Lily finally understood why Stephen Wilson had never gotten the marriage certificate with her all these years.
"This is too much!" Cassandra Lee was trembling with anger, "Doesn't she like you? How could she treat you like this?"
"Mom..." Lily felt a lump in her throat. She was still here, so why did her mother-in-law have to bring up how much that woman liked Stephen?
It made her feel so embarrassed.
"What's going on now?" Cassandra demanded, "Did Sophie's mom come looking?"
"No, not really." Stephen remembered the person he had seen at the hospital, but he didn't let his mind wander for long and continued, "Sophie somehow found out about what happened back then and brought a lawyer over."
"That ungrateful brat, our family raised her for so many years, and she takes everything!" Cassandra cursed viciously, "A bitch is a bitch."
