Mason Wilson didn't answer immediately, the awkward silence in the room was suffocating.
Clarissa Taylor looked at Mason, not missing any change in his expression, and said deliberately, "No matter who it is, no one is allowed to harm my daughter!"
Clarissa knew that there are many gray areas in the world. Being as old as she was, she naturally understood that not everything needed to be taken seriously. However, some things absolutely cannot have gray areas; they are either black or white!
"I'll first investigate, to see what really happened back then," Mason spoke up, "If it was really Emerie... treating me like this, I see no reason to consider her my sister anymore."
The moment Mason finished speaking, Clarissa was genuinely taken aback.
