"He doesn't know," Emma Bennett stated with absolute certainty. "From my understanding of him, if he knew, he wouldn't pretend to care about me in front of me anymore. The only reason he's willing to pretend is because he thinks I haven't seen his true colors."
Lucy Eaton asked again, "Has he already reached the point where he can control the entire Presidential Mansion? Does your father know anything about this?"
"He's tacitly approving Arthur Bennett's actions."
Lucy Eaton sighed, lifting her right hand to place it on his shoulder, "You're living a tough life, I admire you for that."
Emma Bennett's eyelashes fluttered slightly, and she said self-deprecatingly, "To them, I'm just redundant, but I think being alive has its own meaning."
"Of course."
"Those who want me dead are so impatient. They've poisoned me slowly, failed to act locally, and even tried abroad, yet they still can't kill me. It's really frustrating."
