Sheng Jianan, being tall, couldn't fit on the apartment's sofa. The man just leaned crookedly on it, one hand resting on his forehead, his eyes tightly closed.
In the morning, Tang Yanqi came out of the bedroom, groggy with sleep, and was startled by the person on the sofa half-way through a yawn.
Sheng Jianan had already sat up, dark circles under his eyes, and his shirt was a bit disheveled.
"When did you come back?"
Sheng Jianan got up and walked toward her, suddenly reaching out to pull Tang Yanqi into his arms.
Tang Yanqi didn't know what was happening but sensed something was off. She patted Sheng Jianan's back: "What's wrong with you?"
Sheng Jianan let her go, a smile tugging at his lips: "I'm going to take a shower. I've already called in for you. Wait for me a bit, I have something to tell you."
Sheng Jianan's smile was gentle, but Tang Yanqi frowned. Her intuition told her that whatever Sheng Jianan was going to say was definitely not good news.
