Jiayu walked straight into the community until she reached the entrance of the building. Only then did she stop and look back outside. Her eyes were already swollen, and tears continued to flow.
Xin Ke's car was no longer in sight. Jiayu could no longer hold back and slowly squatted down, hugging her knees with her hands, and began to cry audibly.
Somewhere outside, fireworks were being set off, momentarily lighting up the dark sky. Jiayu had no idea how long she had been crying before she finally felt a bit better. She slowly stood up, and her legs felt numb from squatting for too long, causing her to stumble slightly.
Jiayu nearly fell to the ground. Suddenly, a force wrapped around her waist, stabilizing her. Her legs were still numb, and Jiayu blankly turned her head to meet a pair of clear, deep eyes.
