Once a merfolk falls and becomes a sea siren, the merfolk would have strangers to these sea sirens eliminate them, then burn them to ashes and bury them in the ground.
This is because the merfolk believe that the fallen sea sirens are unworthy of the sea's embrace and will be rejected by the sea even in death.
What Fang Ka did was in line with the merfolk's traditions.
As for why Xia Lin and others didn't ask for this earlier, their expressions already gave it away.
