Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Laying Bricks

"Alright, everyone, let's get moving."

Mr. Zhou waved his hand and took the lead in getting busy.

The players all started moving.

Some continued to expand the kiln, while others kept chopping trees to make brick molds and brick bodies.

In the following days, kilns rose from the ground in the clearing, and a large amount of processed wood was piled up like little mountains.

During these days, more and more brick bodies were sent into the brick kilns for firing.

Mr. Zhou also set aside some kilns specifically for firing tiles.

He taught the players to make tile tubes, spinning platforms, and polishing blades using wood, and also found suitable plant leaves in the forest to serve as tile sheaths, then handed the tile-making process to the players.

The tile-making process is similar to brick-making, but it's more complex.

It requires using slender, tough stem-like plants to cut tile blanks of appropriate thickness, then placing the tile tube on the spinning platform, covering it with a tile sheath, and wrapping the tile blank around the tile tube.

Next, use your left hand to turn the spinning platform, and your right hand to hold a polishing blade dipped in water, tapping the tile blank evenly until the surface is smooth and flat.

Then, lift the tile tube, place it on a sawdust pile to let the bottom of the tile tube get coated in sawdust, then place the tile tube on a flat surface, and pull up forcefully to separate the tile tube from the tile blank, forming a cylindrical tile blank.

The tile tube has five subtle dividing lines, which leave marks on the cylindrical tile blank.

After the cylindrical tile blank is air-dried, gently tap the sides of the cylinder with appropriate force, and the cylindrical tile blank will split into four tiles, which are then air-dried and sun-dried before being sent into the kiln to be fired.

That evening, it was finally time for the first batch of fired bricks to be taken out of the kiln.

Mr. Zhou asked the players not to hurry offline for dinner and gathered them in front of the kiln.

At this moment, the players were quite excited.

They had been busy for half a month but had not yet seen any results.

Now they were finally going to see the results of their hard work.

This sense of anticipation made them feel extremely excited, as if their son was about to be born.

Mr. Zhou naturally understood the other players' feelings, as he felt the same way.

Signaling for everyone to quiet down, he then picked two players to assist him and started taking the fired bricks out of the kiln.

When they saw the fired bricks, they couldn't help but gather excitedly.

Iron Black Pot glanced at the Divine Hall in the distance: "Can we start building the Divine Hall now?"

Mr. Zhou immediately nodded: "Yes, we can start building the Divine Hall now, and soon the next batch of bricks will be out of the kiln."

"According to our previous plan, the Divine Hall should be mostly completed in just a few days."

"I'll take two-thirds of the people with me to work on building the Divine Hall."

"The remaining one-third, you go find a large flat stone, polish it into a cube, then hollow out the middle to form an ashtray shape."

"Once the exterior of the Divine Hall is mostly complete, we'll need to transport it inside to make the Holy Pool."

This was Mage Fang Ka's request, asking for a leak-proof Holy Pool inside the Divine Hall.

After careful consideration, Mr. Zhou felt that using a natural large rock to make the Holy Pool was the best option.

Because the Island is not lacking in stone resources, it's easy to find large stones like these.

He selected two-thirds of the players to carry these fired bricks and moved towards the Divine Hall.

The remaining one-third of the players went to find suitable stones.

Upon reaching the designated Divine Hall location, Mr. Zhou began directing and leading the construction of the Divine Hall's outer walls.

Iron Black Pot enthusiastically laid bricks following Mr. Zhou's instructions, but after a while, he noticed Wangzai Little Buns seemed a bit off today.

Usually, Wangzai Little Buns was lively and talkative, often chatting with him and worked very hard.

Today, not only was he quiet, but also absent-minded, almost laying a brick crooked.

Iron Black Pot quickly corrected Wangzai Little Buns's mistake: "What's wrong with you, Wangzai Little Buns? Didn't you soak in milk before coming out today? Why's the milkiness gone?"

Wangzai Little Buns glanced at Iron Black Pot: "Don't talk in strange ways I don't understand. I'm fine."

Iron Black Pot evaluated the slow-moving Wangzai Little Buns: "If you keep this up, when other players see it, they might not want you building the Divine Hall here."

Everyone has been eagerly anticipating the completion of the bricks.

Now everyone is impatient to finish the Divine Hall quickly and collect the team mission rewards sooner.

If they see Wangzai Little Buns slacking and causing trouble here, they will definitely reject him collectively.

So Iron Black Pot wasn't exaggerating at all.

Seeing Wangzai Little Buns pause, Iron Black Pot seized the opportunity: "What's going on? Just tell me, maybe I can give you some advice, you know I'm always pretty clever."

Wangzai Little Buns sighed and shrugged slightly: "Sigh, my bestie keeps wanting me to go shopping with her, and I've refused her several times because of this game."

"Today, after refusing her again, she started arguing with me, saying I've changed and become a game nerd... then complained to my dad."

Iron Black Pot nonchalantly raised a middle finger: "Give her this friendly gesture, let her slowly digest it."

"Bestie? What bestie? With no woman in his heart, brick-moving becomes divine!"

"There are still so many bricks waiting for you, and the handsome Mage Fang Ka is waiting here for you. She can't understand your joy."

Wangzai Little Buns sighed again: "My bestie is the daughter of one of my dad's business partners. She complained to my dad. Originally, my dad said I should go to his pharmaceutical factory to get familiar with things in a month, but now I have to go tomorrow."

Iron Black Pot paused, then looked at Wangzai Little Buns sympathetically: "Think of it this way, even though you can't be online all day, you can still log on at night."

Wangzai Little Buns looked at the brick in his hand: "But now it's precisely the critical time for building the Divine Hall. I can only be online for half the time each day, which means missing half of the Divine Hall's construction. It's like stabbing my heart."

"When the Divine Hall is complete, thinking that only half of it involved me makes my heart ache."

"Also, the rewards from the team's mission pool, my share will definitely be much less, and Mage Fang Ka, what if I miss out on the chance to increase his favorability..."

Iron Black Pot stared at Wangzai Little Buns and finally understood.

The last sentence is probably the real reason you're out of sorts, isn't it?
