The blood-colored mist, wet and sticky rain, pattered down.
Roy leaned against Orenna's embrace, staring blankly and calmly at the tragic scene outside. His over-exhausted brain couldn't process any information, he could only watch, watch, taking everything in.
"Scared?"
Orenna stroked her soft cheek, "Ah, you probably haven't recovered yet. Luckily, you're not like that foolish Devil, harmed by your own abilities; you seem mentally stable as well, it's just that your brain was slightly eroded by the Core of the World... you'll recover in a year or so."
Pausing a moment, the Witch asked, "Would you like to leave with me? You can continue being my student, and when I have time, I'll make you my black bitter yam soup. You'll get better a bit quicker."
If Roy was clear-headed enough, he would have noticed that Orenna was more talkative than usual at this moment.
In a light-hearted, nonchalant yet seemingly emotionally hidden tone, she called out.
"Roy..."
