Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Lin Ying and Clueless (Contract Completed, Seeking Monthly Pass)

Ansheng left through the window sill, climbing over the wall onto the street.

About six hundred meters diagonally opposite of the old residence of Yu Xueqing, there was a true luxurious mansion, complete with a garden, swimming pool, and basement wine cellar.

The owner of this mansion was genuinely wealthy, and not just outwardly rich; there was even a circle of barbed wire on the wall to prevent peeping and theft.

Ansheng arrived in front of the mansion's main gate, climbed up along the carved beams and painted columns to a four-meter-high pillar, glanced into the brightly lit house, and entered the courtyard via the pillar.

The owner of this mansion had the surname Lin, whom Ansheng had known for about a week.

Although not exactly familiar, it was definitely one of the spots where Ansheng could grab a meal in Changxi Town.

Ansheng followed the marble path to the two sliding doors of the living room, raised his paw, and pushed the door open.

Although the lights were on in the house, no one was in the living room, and the silence inside was unusual, with cold dishes already placed on the dining island.

The wind from the central air conditioning was also exceptionally cold, giving the house a pervasive feeling of eerie chill.

Ansheng glanced at the island but did not choose to rush over to feast. Instead, he ran up the marble staircase to the second floor of the mansion.

The entire second floor, besides a sunroom of over fifty square meters, only had one roughly one-hundred-and-twenty-square-meter master bedroom.

"Is Sister Lin here? I came to mooch a meal...."

Ansheng jumped up to unlock the door and walked into the master bedroom.

Upon entering, he first went to the dressing room, then passed the bathroom, study, and finally came to the front of the large bed.

Ansheng looked up towards the bed at the weary woman exuding an aura of melancholy.

The woman appeared to be in her early thirties, her long black hair naturally spread over the pillow. The delicate beauty of her face, which should have made her look like she was in her late twenties, was marred by a sense of unspeakable weakness and fatigue.

She didn't seem surprised to see Ansheng arrive; she merely turned over, continuing to curl up and cover herself with a white sheet.

"Get up and eat!"

Ansheng jumped onto the bed, bouncing around, nudging the woman lying there.

Ansheng and the woman on the bed weren't actually well acquainted. He only knew her name from the wish list.

Her name was Lin Ying.

Her wish to Ansheng was hoping her whole family could come back.

[If only I had canceled the business meeting that day... maybe we would all still be together. Lin Ying thought in despair, just before jumping into the pool, having learned that her husband, daughter, and parents had perished in a car accident in the Costa road trip.]

[Wish Fulfilled: Time Reversal (Lin Ying can't get over that hurdle. If you can seduce her, maybe she won't turn out from a pair of pants into a Cullinan)]

At that time, Ansheng was on the grass, urinating wildly with Lai Foo, and heard the sound of something heavy falling into water. He followed the sound to the Lin family mansion,

Ansheng peered through a crack in the door and saw the dazed Lin Ying driving into the swimming pool.

Ansheng was startled and, without thinking of anything else, hurriedly pulled the submerged Lin Ying out.

If it weren't for his physique being enhanced several times, Ansheng might have not been able to break the window to drag Lin Ying out.

"Get up to eat! Ah Qing and my future Cullinan depend on you——"

Ansheng jumped onto the bed, pushing against Lin Ying's waist to pull her out of the blanket, biting the collar of her nightgown, and dragging her out of the master bedroom.

Lin Ying's gaze was dazed, like a completely drunk wretch, very heavy.

Ansheng dragged Lin Ying to the elevator, jumped up to press the start button, and dragged Lin Ying to the open-concept kitchen on the first floor in front of the island.

Ansheng stood upright to lift the microwave, tossed it onto the island, and then ran to the living room to find a power strip to plug in the microwave to heat the dishes.

"Phew——"

Ansheng exhaled a breath, squatting by the island, looking at Lin Ying who was staring at him, and whimpered, "Having an illustrious fox like me take care of your living, even heating food for you at night, all comes with a fee."

"However, my ID hasn't been issued yet, so I can't activate WeChat and Blue Pocket.

"Remember to write me a check... No, cash is better."

"I don't have an ID; I can't get an appointment number at the bank. I don't want to have to change nationality because I can't withdraw with a check, turning into a North American Red Fox."

"Why a North American Red Fox? Naturally, because the North American Red Foxes usually don't know what's going on since their heads and scalps hang by the fireplace as BBQ."

Ansheng self-deprecatingly joked with fox humor, but Lin Ying didn't have Yu Xueqing's ability to communicate with animals.

She could only hear the rhythmed sounds akin to singing coming from the fox.

Ansheng wasn't too concerned whether Lin Ying could understand him or not.

Because his original intention of saving Lin Ying was purely to do good deeds for virtue's sake.

As for the hidden perk of meal mooching, Ansheng only discovered it later.

After heating up the food, Ansheng fed a few large bites to the nearly fainting Lin Ying before leisurely strolling to the mansion's monitoring room to check, ensuring the surveillance computer was off,

Ansheng gave Lin Ying a brief farewell before leaving.

Before leaving, Ansheng didn't forget to adjust the central air conditioning to a warmer setting.

After eating some carbs, Lin Ying's pale face gradually regained a bit of color.

She watched the white fox open the door, close the sliding door, and wag its tail as it vanished into the courtyard.

Lin Ying endured the dizziness, sat up from the ground, and shook her head as she walked upstairs:

"If this gets out, others might think I've gone mad....."

"A fox that can smash car windows with its paws, knows to turn off surveillance and remove the hard drive, and even cooks me five dishes and a soup overnight....."

"After five days of continuous medication, I've finally confirmed that I'm not mad, but my world has indeed gone crazy."

Lin Ying sat on the bed, looking at the antidepressant medication on the bedside table and then out the window at the moonlight. She silently picked up the repulsive medication, swallowed it, and lay back down on the bed.

Lin Ying knows she has a heart condition, and her mood has been extremely depressed lately.

Even after her near-death experience in the water, she had already started taking medicine again.

Yet the condition hasn't improved.

That white fox even borrowed her phone, ordered KFC, and pointed to the Crazy Thursday promotion, giving a thumbs-up.

But Lin Ying found it didn't taste good; the egg tarts were too sweet, the chicken was too dry, and the cola was diluted by the ice...

If the fox ever orders with her phone again, she'd recommend her daughter's old favorite Micky D's.

Lin Ying didn't want to admit she was sick, or rather, nobody in their right mind wants to admit they're ill.

And Lin Ying chose to take medicine, merely hoping to investigate one matter.

Among herself, the world, and the fox, which one has the problem.

Yet the more medicine she took, the more Lin Ying doubted whether it was psychedelics she was ingesting.

......

Unaware that Lin Ying, initially resistant to treatment, had silently begun taking her medicine, Ansheng was leaving the mansion.

Upon exiting the mansion, Ansheng did not head home but walked towards the mountains.

He planned to seize the free day to go to Yu Xueqing's home to deal with the rodent infestation in the leased mountain tea fields.

As long as the rodent problem persists, Ah Qing's leased mountains remain wasteland, hardly suitable for planting anything, especially those tea trees requiring meticulous care.

For Ansheng, he had a very fitting formula in mind for the current situation.

The formula was: Ah Qing's lack of income = not having enough to eat = worse off than a rooster.

Before heading up the mountain, Ansheng deliberately detoured to a garbage recycling station.

"Phoo——"

In the garbage recycling station, a hidden creature seemed to sense danger, issuing a sharp warning as it wriggled out of the shadows.

A hefty King Cobra, nearly four meters long and weighing over twenty pounds, stared vigilantly at Ansheng.
