Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Could it be that Senior Sister has a brother?

Shen Jingqi returned to the office.

There are still dozens of minutes left; I can do a little preparation.

The topic regarding contact with Li Baiyu seems to be a topic she is more resistant to.

Her reaction this morning was proof of that.

If we talk directly, we might end up talking about nothing.

Shen Jingqi spun the chair, thinking.

OH cards!

Two sets of cards caught Shen Jingqi's attention.

"Senior Sister, are you still using the cards this afternoon?" he asked Huang Yang.

"I'm not using them. If you want to use them, shuffle the cards again."

Shen Jingqi picked up the cards, his long fingers shuttling between the hard papers.

Senior Sister, in a while, let's use the cards to understand your inner self.

He drank a cup of water and, carrying the cards, reached Li Baiyu's room.

"It's two o'clock; let's get started."

"Okay."

Li Baiyu was sitting rigorously, adopting a stance of readiness to battle.

Seeing her tense demeanor, Shen Jingqi felt an urge to laugh internally.

As expected, she wasn't that cooperative.

Next, it depends on me.

Li Baiyu had already thought of a way to respond.

But Shen Jingqi no longer had anything to say.

All he did was glance around the room and pull a table over.

Then he started adjusting the chairs beside the table.

Soon, two chairs were set by the table.

Immediately after, Shen Jingqi took out two boxes.

First, he poured out a stack of cards from a big box.

Then, a smaller box with the same thickness.

What is he up to?

Shen Jingqi looked at Li Baiyu and invited her to sit opposite him.

"Let's do a light-hearted activity."

Shen Jingqi pointed to the cards on the table.

"What is this?"

Li Baiyu was slightly curious.

"OH cards."

It essentially is a psychological test.

With a projective nature.

"How do we do it?"

"Just follow my questions."

"Let's begin."

Shen Jingqi pointed to a stack of small cards.

"Draw any 5 cards from here."

Li Baiyu reached out her arm, her slender fingers skimming over the cards.

"Done."

"Let's look at the first one. What do you see?"

"In a light blue room, there's a woman in a red dress sitting on a bench. In front of her, stands a child in blue clothes and blue pants; it looks like a boy. The woman holds the boy's shoulder and talks to him."

Li Baiyu paused when mentioning the child's gender.

"How do you feel looking at this picture?"

"It's hard to stay calm."

"Are you in this picture?"

"No."

"Have you experienced something similar in your life?"

"It seems like I might have. But I'm not sure if I imagined it."

Shen Jingqi noticed fluctuations in Li Baiyu's emotions; her breathing became rapid for a few moments.

"Alright, let's put this one aside for now and look at the second card. What do you see?"

Shen Jingqi's voice was gentle, pulling Li Baiyu out of her current emotions.

"In a playground, a child wearing a pink top and blue pants is on a slide. There's a mass of white light at the bottom of the slide. The child looks at the railing beside, where another child is swinging. That child is wearing red clothes and brown pants."

"How do you feel?"

"Very relaxed, quite happy."

"Are you in it?"

"I think I am. That child on the slide is me."

Li Baiyu's fingers pressed on the picture, a hint of playfulness twinkling at her eyes.

"Okay, let's look at the third one."

"There is a winding river, with an arched fence bridge nearby and a rainbow bridge farther away, both spanning the river. There are many green plants on both banks of the river."

"Feeling joyful, it feels full of life and vitality."

"Am I in it? I don't know. I think this might be a toy model, something I built with blocks."

"The fourth one."

Li Baiyu gradually got into the state, beginning to take the initiative.

"There are two white spaces with a black dot in the middle."

"My mood is calm."

Upon seeing this card, Li Baiyu's eyes clearly widened.

This expression suggests she's very interested or attracted.

"Are you in it?"

"I should be now."

Li Baiyu seemed to be pondering something, then affirmed.

"The fifth one."

"A big man wearing a green top and blue pants is holding the hand of a small child. The child is wearing a red outfit, with a red hat integrated into the clothing. Behind them, there is a large yellow door."

"I feel very happy."

"I should be in it; that child is me."

There was a hint of a smile on Li Baiyu's face, as if reminiscing about something.

"Alright, next, let's string these five cards together to tell a story."

"A story?"

"You can tell it however you like, it's up to you."

Li Baiyu thought for a moment, biting her lip in a contemplative manner, and slowly said:

"It could be a story about a little kid. This child just started kindergarten. Her dad loves her dearly. She has an older brother. They often play games together, very happily. Her mom is very good to her brother, quite partial to him. But she doesn't feel jealous. The child enjoys building blocks, creating rivers, bridges, and rainbows. She has lots of ideas and encounters different spaces; that black dot is the planet she belongs to."

After telling the story, Li Baiyu feigned anger and said, "Isn't this stuff for kids? All the pictures are so cartoonish and the content juvenile."

"Don't get the wrong idea; it's definitely not just for kids. This deck is suitable for all ages. It's a test to help us explore deep into our hearts."

"Alright, so what did you see?"

Li Baiyu asked seriously.

"We've only done part of it; there's another section we need to proceed with."

Shen Jingqi pointed at the stack of large cards.

"Draw 5 cards from here."

These large cards contain no images, only a red frame with text on all four sides.

The previous cards were image cards; this set is word cards.

"What does the first card say?"

"Fantasy."

"Put the first small card inside."

The red frame on the large card fits the small card perfectly.

"Now, do you see any changes in this card?"

Li Baiyu stared at the boy and woman embracing.

"No change."

"Alright, look at the second big card."

"Sadness."

She placed the small card with two children playing on it.

"No change."

"The third one."

"Home."

The small card depicts a river under a bridge and a rainbow.

"No change."

"The fourth one, eliminate."

Li Baiyu solemnly placed the small card with two curves and a black dot onto the big card.

"No change."

"The fifth one, recycle."

She firmly placed the card of a man holding a child's hand onto the big card.

"No change."

Li Baiyu looked up, her eyes bursting with intensity.

"Now, can you share what you've uncovered?"

Li Baiyu studied Shen Jingqi with great interest.

With just a few childish cards, you think you can understand my past? That's somewhat laughable.

Shen Jingqi focused on the combination of image and word cards.

At first glance, these image cards and word cards seem mismatched.

The main function of the word cards is to solidify ideas and, when combined with the image cards, to see if the user continues with their original expression and creation.

This assists in assessing mental health and cognitive stability.

The content of the image cards is about projection; even those with strong defenses unconsciously incorporate their experiences and feelings when interpreting them.

By interpreting the cards, you can better explore the inner world, personality, and establish a certain amount of trust with the person involved.

"Alright, I'll attempt some interpretation. You may have a strong sense of attachment. Although in reality, you're more accustomed to being alone, deep down, you still have a great emotional connection with family relationships. You might have once longed for maternal love and have fond memories of paternal love. Additionally, there might be someone who had a significant influence on you, perhaps becoming a knot in your heart. When thinking of this person, you feel lonely."

Shen Jingqi carefully expressed, "The brain itself is connected to fears, but when you open your heart, you'll feel more deeply."

Thinking of the little boy Li Baiyu mentioned, Shen Jingqi couldn't resist theorizing.

Does Li Baiyu have a brother?
