Chapter 268 - first

Lor didn't move, not at first.

His expression was unreadable—part surprise, part something else, deeper and darker.

Then that slow, unmistakable grin returned, carving across his face like the closing of a trap.

"Sounds fair," he said quietly. "Very fair."

Eva's heart skipped.

She didn't know if she was supposed to be terrified or thrilled—maybe both.

But when Lor reached out and brushed his fingers against her cheek, she didn't flinch.

Lor didn't rush.

He leaned in slowly, his lips brushing hers with a featherlight touch, teasing, testing.

Eva's breath hitched, her hands hesitantly finding his chest, fingers curling into his shirt as she pressed closer, her top stretching tight across her breasts.

The kiss deepened, slow and languid, his tongue tracing the seam of her lips before slipping inside, coaxing a soft moan from her throat.

Her body melted against his, the heat between them building like a slow-burning fire.
