After joking around to brush off the "tasting cookies" step, Du Xixi finally breathed a sigh of relief and led the two Iron-eating Beasts to the kitchen. Ke Lian had no intention of following, but when Du Xixi turned to sneak a peek at him, she happened to see Ke Lian lowering his head to tap on the Light Computer.

Her intuition told her that Ke Lian might be using the Light Computer to set a timer, so he could later come to the kitchen and suggest they take a break. And as it turned out, Du Xixi's intuition never disappointed her.
As she lowered her head to try to see what kind of mess Old Bai's meat was being cut into, Ke Lian knocked on the kitchen door, his clear voice carrying through: "Xixi, you two brothers, the cooking lesson has been quite long, let's take a break."
Old Hei and Old Bai didn't know why Ke Lian was at their place and thought he was there keeping Du Xixi company, so they didn't question him sitting alone on the sofa.
