Lydia was both amused and exasperated, "Dad, why are you using Christopher as a bet when you're gambling with others? Since when have you been so 'familiar' with him?"
Ian, cornered by Lydia, could only scratch his nose and 'sell out' little Arthur.
He chuckled, "You think it's a good idea too, right? Thanks to our naturally clever little Arthur! He came up with the idea!"
Lydia: "!!!"
"It was Arthur?! Why would he help you come up with a plan to prank his dad?" Lydia was very curious because she knew although her son was only three, he had been 'trained' by his dad to be very obedient...
"Well... maybe because your husband tricked your son first... so your son learned by example..." Ian laughed it off and emphasized, "I really did make a promise to someone, no one but your husband can cook that kind of seafood fried rice. My friend has a very picky palate, and if it's not your husband cooking, I doubt anyone can impress her."
