Chapter 478 - Chapter 260: What If I Hadn't Forced It (First Update)

Summer Spencer didn't know what she was thinking.

She was like a walking corpse, waiting outside the operating room.

When Hazel Winchester was wheeled into a private ward after her surgery, Summer was there waiting by her bedside.

She waited until midnight for Hazel to wake up, and only then did Summer gradually return to normal.

"Mom!" She threw herself by her bedside, crying uncontrollably.

Hazel had just come out of surgery, and her chest felt like it was on fire, as if those tobacco threads had irritated her lungs and hadn't been thoroughly cleared.

Whenever she tried to speak, she couldn't help but cough, coughing so much that she couldn't form words.

Summer quickly got up to fetch a bottle of warm water, poured a glass, and tried to feed it to Hazel.

Hazel hurriedly shook her head.

Having just had a tube inserted from the surgery, she couldn't drink water yet.

Seeing Hazel refuse, Summer set the glass back down and asked tearfully, "Mom, are you feeling any better?"
