Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: One, Two, Three, Let's Trade

Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei fixed their gaze, and in the hand extended from the car, there was a small, exquisite machine with a simple structure, kept in good condition, seemingly equipped with a camera, and four propellers.

The machine was the same color as the car, both black, but compared to the car, it was much cleaner, like it had been specifically polished to maintain its appearance for sale.

"This gadget is definitely handy, trust me, all parts are complete, look."

As the person spoke, he withdrew his hand and brought out another item, "A remote control, this can control the drone, it comes with small videos, the footage captured by the drone can be played through the remote control.

"This is a good thing, I don't let just anyone see it. So, do you want to consider it?"

Lu Xi'an was indeed tempted. With this gadget, every location they scout could complement Gou, expanding the range of vision and not missing any blind spots.

There are places Gou can't reach, and the drone can fly up and see, not needing human intervention, keeping itself safe.

How could the person in the car bear to take out such a good item for exchange?

Could it be that he has more than one drone?

Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei exchanged a glance, seeing some hesitation in Yao Wei's eyes, but unable to make a decision for the moment.

"What do you think?"

Lu Xi'an asked Yao Wei.

Yao Wei said, "What do we exchange?"

It turned out she was troubled by this.

"This needs careful thought..."

Lu Xi'an sighed inwardly, the drone was so valuable, what did he and Yao Wei have that could be considered equivalent, and caught the person's interest for exchange?

Instinctively, he glanced down at the foot of the co-pilot seat where Yao Wei sat, where Gou was acting as a box.

That absolutely wouldn't do, Gou was crucial to him, a non-sale item.

As if sensing Lu Xi'an's gaze, the mechanical dog suddenly moved, changing from a box back to a dog's form, its eyes twinkling, each emitting a bit of red light.

Lu Xi'an was slightly surprised, he had never seen the mechanical dog in this state.

Yao Wei was also puzzled for a moment, looking down to check.

She seemed to think of something, glancing at Gou, then at the drone remote control in the person's hand.

"Big brother and sister, do you want to consider it? If you have an idea, I'll slow down; if we keep going, we'll reach those guys' base!"

The car horn sounded again.

But Lu Xi'an paid no heed to the person's shout, seeing Yao Wei's actions, he understood something, and asked Gou: "Do you also think this thing is useful?"

Gou's dog eyes suddenly gleamed.

This made Lu Xi'an decide firmly.

The mechanical dog had never been wrong in its judgment on things; if it thought the drone was useful, then it surely would be, proving its worth henceforth.

—Although Gou's concept of "useful" might differ from Lu Xi'an's, he didn't mind trusting Gou more.

And Yao Wei, after seeing a look from Lu Xi'an, acquiring some kind of information from his eyes, also made up her mind, saying: "Stop the car, I'll get off and talk to him. You stay in the car, don't turn off the engine, we can leave anytime."

Lu Xi'an initially thought to say how her few words could negotiate, but considering in crucial moments Yao Wei's mouth could spit out many words, like this very sentence.

So, he followed Yao Wei's instructions and first shouted at the person: "Stop and talk. You get down from the car."

The person asked, "And you?"

Lu Xi'an replied, "We both get out."

"Alright."

With this response from the horn, the car immediately stopped.

Lu Xi'an also stepped on the brake.

The two cars staggered slightly, one in front, and one behind, the car in front, Lu Xi'an's car behind.

Once the person in the car confirmed that Yao Wei's car had stopped, he said: "I'll count one, two, three, we open the door, then I'll count one, two, three, and we first stretch out our hands, then I'll count one, two, three, and we'll get out together, does that sound okay?"

"Alright."

Lu Xi'an agreed.

Meanwhile, Yao Wei had already tucked the gun into her familiar spot at her waist, ensuring she could reach for it quickly.

The person in the car began counting: "One, two, three."

"Click."

The driver's door of the car opened.

While both the driver's seat and co-pilot seat doors of Yao Wei's car opened.

Yao Wei glanced back at Lu Xi'an, who smiled, saying: "I must let him feel assured. I'll be right at the car door, still able to cover you, can quickly get back in the car if something goes wrong."

Yao Wei said no more.

"One, two, three."

The horn atop the car sounded the command for the second time.

Three hands lifted from the two cars, the hands in the car holding the drone and remote control, while the four hands in Yao Wei's car were empty, holding nothing.

"One, two, three."

The third command rang out, three people got out simultaneously.

Lu Xi'an stood outside the car, right at the door, keeping still, already touching the micro submachine gun, but using the door as cover, not letting the person see.

The person indeed wore a coat, ragged and dirty, but with the long hair and sunglasses, it truly looked sharp and unrestrained.

He grinned, revealing somewhat uneven teeth, and said with a smile: "Finally met two good people, you're decent, didn't start a fight over disagreement."

Yao Wei didn't waste words with him, asked: "What do you want?"

The person replied: "I mainly want to make friends, if you are willing to make a proper trade, then we can be friends.

"I'm generous to friends, look at what you have, I'm open to anything."

Yao Wei thought for a moment, said: "How about guns?"

She had just picked up two guns from corpses, and had some in her possession, not needing so many at the moment.

As for whether the man would pose a threat to her and Lu Xi'an after acquiring guns, she wasn't afraid, she believed in her prowess.

Furthermore, for a man capable of wandering alone with such a heap of supplies, Yao Wei didn't believe he was unarmed.

"Uh..."

The man seemed slightly hesitant.

Yao Wei then said: "With a clip of bullets."

She had picked up fourteen bullets off the corpses.

The man said: "I mean, give me the gun and ammo separately, be careful of accidental discharge."

He really seemed like he wanted to befriend them; in Lu Xi'an and Yao Wei's view, this drone was far more precious than a gun.

Could there be a problem with this drone?

Yao Wei slightly furrowed her brow, said: "Make the machine fly."

The man grinned: "Don't worry, my goods are absolutely fine, see for yourself."

He turned on the drone and placed it on top of the car, then operated it with the remote control.

The drone indeed had no issues, its four propellers spinning, it flew up.

So Yao Wei hesitated no longer, had Lu Xi'an disassemble and hand her the clip of the just-acquired gun from the car, exchanged for the drone, and exchanged the clip and bullets for the remote control.
