Chapter 30 - 30. Make a Bet (New Book Seeking Readers and Favorites)

Now, in the warehouse of the Wildfire Gang.

A large group of Wildfire Gang members were gathered.

Johnny was easy to spot with his fiery red hair and numerous punk tattoos from his neck to his thighs.

A black skull tattoo stretched across Johnny's neck. The bulging muscles and protruding veins made it appear unusually ferocious.

In the Lower City District, Johnny was known as one of the most ruthless, but now he was kneeling painfully on the ground.

His muscles were tensed all over, eyes bloodshot, and his facial expression twisted with pain.

Dragging his strong knees across the floor, he crawled to a man in a suit, hugged his legs, and murmured with trembling lips: "It was just a small mistake. Give us one more chance! We can kill that person!"

"We have been so loyal to you. Can't we get a single pardon?"

Bang!

Johnny was kicked away. The man in the suit looked at Johnny and the other Wildfire Gang members with cold disdain.

More than a dozen people were present, these were the core members of the Wildfire Gang, the kids who grew up with Johnny.

Their condition was not much better than Johnny's.

All were painfully curled up on the ground.

"Not every failure comes with a chance for redemption. Because of your incompetence this time, we suffered huge losses!

Even your miserable lives can't make up for our losses!

Pardon? We spent so much money, so many resources, cultivating you not for pardoning you, but for you to get things done!"

Johnny, stripped of dignity, crawled once more to the suited man's feet, clutching his legs.

"We should be punished, we accept that. I just ask for one! Just one for my sister! She's different from us, she will really die!"

Johnny's gaze shifted towards a small figure curled up in pain beside them.

That was his sister.

Her body convulsing, her lips pale, foaming at the mouth.

Even her pupils were slightly unfocused.

The man in the suit maintained a blank expression: "Then let her die."

Bang!

Johnny was kicked away again, and the man in the suit disdainfully wiped the sole of his shoe on the ground.

As if he wasn't kicking the ruthless Johnny, but stepping on a pile of dog shit.

"Dream Kiss is very precious. Failures who can't complete their tasks aren't qualified to enjoy it."

"But we'll die! Even if we're dogs, we shouldn't die like this, we can still work for you..."

"Training dogs requires punishing them. Don't worry, the first wave of withdrawal reactions isn't so easily deadly. If they can't survive it, there's no reason for them to live." The man in the suit looked at Johnny's sister, who was already beginning to convulse, and sneered.

The man in the suit slowly stood up, ignored the Wildfire Gang members, and strode toward the door, muttering: "Lower-class people, truly filthy."

Johnny watched the back of the man in the suit, eyes flickering with murderous intent, yet he had to endure the humiliation, crawling to his sister's side and holding her frail body in his arms.

He kept slapping his sister's cheeks, the warehouse filled with the crisp sound of slaps.

"Don't sleep... Leia! Don't sleep! Hang in there... endure it, they won't let us die so easily, endure this time, later they'll still give us the drugs..."

No matter how much pain he was in, Johnny still cared about his sister.

The other core members of the Wildfire Gang grew up with Johnny, including black, Asian, white, and Latino members.

They were like a family.

No one looked down on the humiliatingly kneeling Wildfire Johnny.

They just painfully curled up, enduring the torment.

The first wave of withdrawal reactions, although painful, they could still tolerate...

But.

Besides Johnny's sister, two other girls with poor physical health were also experiencing convulsions and foaming at the mouth.

It looked like they might not make it.

Johnny could only painfully close his eyes.

Neither Johnny and his group, nor the departing man in the suit, noticed a pair of eyes witnessing everything through the small window on the warehouse roof.

...

Chen Che jumped down from the clutter, clicking his tongue: "No wonder there's no one guarding outside, they're training dogs inside."

Xia Na rolled her eyes: "If you've seen enough, let's go, or call your people for vengeance. Don't expect me to help you."

Chen Che clapped his hands, a confident smile on his face: "I don't need you to help me, I'll go in myself."

"Are you brain-dead? These people are just waiting to kill you, yet you insist on walking right in?

If you're planning to use my protective duties assigned by my sister to take advantage of me… well, I've heard you're quite the axle, which is why my sister likes you so much..." Xia Na sneered with a trace of jealousy, glaring venomously at Chen Che's lower body.

"If I lose my aim because you electrocute me, it's not my fault."

When he heard the tone of eager anticipation in her voice, Chen Che rolled his eyes.

From what he knew, Xia Na was picked up by An Nishang when she was young and kept by her side since then, showing an almost pathological loyalty and obsession with An Nishang.

Her loyalty to An Nishang was exaggeratedly 100%.

It's only natural she'd be jealous that he could have sex with An Nishang anytime.

Chen Che's eyes darted around as he grinned: "How about we make a bet? Once I go in, I won't need you to save them, and they will be obedient to me. Do you believe that?"

"I don't." Xia Na replied without hesitation.

"Then let's bet, if I succeed, you can't refuse when I need your help."

Xia Na promptly raised a white middle finger: "Only an idiot would bet with you."

"If I lose and need you to save me, I'll steal a set of the leader's intimate clothing for you..."

Xia Na's pupils widened, her breathing became rapid.

"Don't worry, not the scented kind, but those with the strong essence of the leader's body, that fragrant intimate clothing..."

Chen Che's whisper was like a devil's temptation.

"Alright! I agree!"

Xia Na gulped, the excitement in her purple pupils glowed, her legs inadvertently squeezing together, nodding eagerly.

"You're a perverted fool..." Chen Che muttered in his heart, maintaining a smile: "It's settled then. Whoever doesn't uphold the bet will earn the leader's lifelong disdain."

"You're so vicious... hurry up and go!"

Xia Na, already excited, unsheathed her Tang Blade.

Chen Che wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead, realizing she was sure he'd be slaughtered the moment he appeared in front of the Wildfire Gang, and she couldn't wait to win the bet.

What a pity.

With a confidently self-assured smile, Chen Che, under Xia Na's watchful eyes, strode confidently to the warehouse door.

...

"Leia... hang in there, hang in there..."

Seeing his sister's breathing grow weaker, the expression in Johnny's eyes, which supposedly remained unchanged even when shot three times, now welled with tears.

He could only pray to the heavens he no longer believed in.

At that moment, the warehouse door was opened, and footsteps echoed through.

"The famous Wildfire Johnny is actually crying."

Even struggling in pain, all Wildfire Gang members instantly grabbed their guns tightly, fearing it was an enemy seeking revenge.

Upon seeing it was Chen Che, disbelief flashed in everyone's eyes, then the largest black man raised his shotgun and aimed excitedly at Chen Che: "Is it you? Johnny! If we kill him, we'll complete the task!"

"You could, sure, but killing me means those girls would die too."

"Hold on!"
