In the village, Old Li took his silly son Xiao Li up the mountain at dawn. After the rain, there were more mushrooms on the mountain. They wanted to pick as many mushrooms as possible early in the morning to sell them in town and earn some living expenses.
Xiao Li had a bell hanging around his neck, jingling as he walked. Old Li feared that if he didn't keep an eye on him, Xiao Li might wander off. With the bell around his neck, he didn't have to watch him constantly; he could just listen to the sound.
As the two walked along, they looked for mushrooms near the big trees. Suddenly, they heard a woman's voice behind them.
"Wait a moment!"
The father and son were startled and turned to see a girl, who was dirty all over. Old Li was puzzled at first. Upon closer inspection, he realized that although she was dirty, she was quite pretty and unfamiliar, not like someone from around here.
"Miss, do you need something?"
