Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: An Eerily Familiar Feeling

She... hasn't seen him before, right?

As she looked at Yin Shixiu, Yin Shixiu was also observing Su Xiaomeng. At the moment their eyes met, the confusion in her eyes left him a bit surprised.

She... doesn't remember me?

Yin Shixiu had been in business for years and never showed his emotions. Even if he had doubts, he didn't express them. "Su Xiaomeng, right? I often hear Meng Meng mention you. Don't be shy, have a seat."

At the instant he spoke, Su Xiaomeng felt a chill down her spine...

Even though a glass table separated them, his voice seemed to brush against her ear canal, ambiguous and unclear. The warm breath from his lips seemed to rush right in, making her shiver involuntarily.

Even the voice was... eerily familiar!

What's the deal with this uncle? They really hadn't met before, right?

"Haha, Uncle, look how you've stunned Xiao Meng! Her ears are all red!" Yin Meng pointed at Su Xiaomeng's suddenly reddened fair ear, teasing.

Su Xiaomeng quickly covered her ears, "No way!"

Yin Shixiu calmly looked at Su Xiaomeng, his gaze fixed on her flushed ears. He remembered how delicate and soft the flesh on this ear was.

"What would you like to drink?" he asked.

Su Xiaomeng looked at the MENU. Each drink had a more extravagant name than the last. She ordered a tea called "Long Island Iced Tea." As soon as she said it, Yin Meng vetoed it, "Just a pot of fruit tea with two slices of Black Forest, thank you."

"Alright, please wait a moment."

Yin Meng glanced at Su Xiaomeng, "Daytime and you still want to drink alcohol? With your capacity, weren't you at a loss last night? Uncle, don't be fooled by her usual competence. Once she drinks, she turns into a fool in no time!"

Turns into a fool in no time? Yin Shixiu's lips curled into a slight smile. Is she truly foolish or just pretending?

"You're the fool! I ordered tea!" Su Xiaomeng retorted immediately, only to realize she was in front of someone's elder...

Yin Meng and Yin Shixiu exchanged a smile, and their laughter made Su Xiaomeng feel uneasy all over.

"Long Island Iced Tea is the name of a cocktail."

"..." Su Xiaomeng was embarrassed, and her ears turned even redder. Damn, why name a cocktail that?

"It's just a poorly chosen name for the drink."

Yin Shixiu said indifferently, gently rubbing the edge of his coffee cup with a porcelain spoon, producing a "shasha" sound that made Su Xiaomeng's heart itch a little...

She felt she must not have sobered up yet. What were these bizarre feelings?

The man was thirty-two, thirteen years older than her. Why did his voice make her blush and her heart race?

"Weren't you here for sponsorship? Tell me about your club's situation."

Yin Shixiu sat there with his body slightly turned, his right leg crossed over his left. The natural, relaxed posture inexplicably created a thick glass wall around him, completely isolating him from the outside world. Beyond the glass wall, an unfathomable chasm lay between them.

Age, demeanor, experience... everything she could think of was worlds apart.

He was so mature, with eyes so sharp, further highlighting Su Xiaomeng's inexperience and unease.

Yet, who knew Su Xiaomeng was actually a bold, fearless person by nature.

Who knew why, facing this man, not only did she feel nervous, but her mind was also blank? She had never met him before...

"Why aren't you speaking?"

Yin Shixiu picked up the coffee cup in front of him and took a light sip.

"Xiao Meng, what's wrong with you?" Yin Meng saw her silent and didn't understand why, knowing well how talkative this girl usually was!
