Chapter 206: Need for Speed
Back at the hot spring hotel, Wu Songtao exchanged a few pleasantries before leaving. Li Yan returned to his room by himself. He still had the room card, so at least they hadn't checked out yet. It was not even eleven o'clock, so they probably hadn't been awake for long.
Upon opening the door, Li Yan noticed the living room was empty. Both bedroom doors were open, and he saw no sign of them. He stepped into the bedroom of Matsushima Kui and Shinohara Mirai and found the bed still messy, as if they had just gotten up. Their clothes and bags were still in the room. Since they hadn't gone out for breakfast, there was only one place they could be.
He backed out and walked to the bathroom door. The bathroom door was closed, and he couldn't hear any water running. Why would both of them be in there together?
Remembering he hadn't seen their robes on the bed, Li Yan figured they had just gotten up and gone for a wash just as he had arrived.
