Luo Chen glanced at her indifferently, his expression seemingly helpless, "Afraid you might go to your death." He answered succinctly.
"This is my home!" Li Xin widened her eyes, her voice filled with determination and tenacity. She would not allow anyone to belittle her home, even if it was Luo Chen.
"It's no longer your home." Luo Chen's tone remained calm but carried an undeniable certainty. His gaze swept over the surrounding desert as if he could pierce through any facade and see the hidden truth beneath.
Li Xin sneered and turned her head, "How can you be sure?" She was unwilling to believe Luo Chen's words, and even more unwilling to accept this harsh reality. However, Luo Chen did not answer her question but instead gently pulled her back, retreating to a small sand dune behind them. His movements were gentle yet firm, as if protecting a precious treasure. Only after retreating behind the dune did Luo Chen release a long breath, his taut nerves seemingly relaxing a bit.
