Issuing a challenge?
Duncan looked up in surprise. He had considered that the enemy might attack without warning after spreading malicious rumors, or even try to raid his rear lines. But he never expected Khan Chagatai to directly challenge him.
Under the watchful gaze of the Divine Favor Khan's Personal Guard, two envoys were led in.
The elder leading them was dressed as a prairie priest, and upon seeing Duncan, he immediately knelt down, his demeanor extremely humble, while the other envoy displayed arrogance, sizing Duncan up and down with an unruly spirit of a prairie warrior, simply crossing his arms in front of his chest.
The old shaman, still kneeling, respectfully handed over the challenge letter to Duncan, his voice trembling: "We have just one request."
"Please do not take Khan Chagatai's life."
The challenge letter was standard, but between the lines, a raging battle spirit burned fiercely.
