Chapter 10 - Chapter 8: Gods and Demons in the Mist

Seeing all the ants stir up and become chaotic at the end, the Ant Queen fell into silence.

Death, this is the most primal fear rooted in all intelligent life.

And the ancient inscriptions hidden behind the throne, that eerie destruction, were enough to make them uneasy.

Soon, they began to study the mysteries of their own bodies, discovering that some ant bodies were strong, bearing scars from various wars, robust in stature, with immense strength.

They remembered that phrase:

"Our consciousness is fleeting, yet our bodies endure."

They intensely realized something:

The consciousness of prehistoric ancient creatures had perished, leaving only the shells...

And we live anew upon their shells!

A sinister feeling of dread extended among the ants.

They touched antennae, rapidly communicating, we inherited their bodies, and we too will soon die, with new lives inheriting us?

And we, where do we come from in life, and where do we go in death?

Why have we come into this world?

At this moment, this most primitive, randomly taken from an old city apartment building, placed on a desk, small ant tribe, emerged from confusion with a goal, the entire tribe gained a drive to move forward: to survive.

At this moment, Fu Qingjun looked at the panicked ants, slightly amazed,

"Last night's ants, their intelligence is so high, aren't they? They even secretly kept records, completely documenting everything... I didn't even notice."

Fu Qingjun still made no moves, continuing only to observe.

The ant civilization...

"It seems quite interesting." He chuckled, resting his chin on his hand, holding a notebook in the other, and watching with interest how things would develop on the table.

On the table, the ants still moved quickly, gradually, a wave of anxiety and dread began to fill their hearts.

But they turned their dread into motivation, and in an instant, they displayed even more astonishing organizational discipline, frantically exploring the entire land, probing all worldly objects, seeking the possibility of survival!

Using anything necessary.

The entire pear blossom square table near the windowsill was thoroughly explored by them, even crawling down the four table legs.

But Fu Qingjun did not give them a chance to leave and reach the ground, directly extending four strands of hair to wrap around the table legs, any ant that approached had its brain completely drained of its soul by Fu Qingjun's hair, acting like a conduit.

Hair that could eject brains could naturally also absorb, and those that directly chose to attempt cliff-diving from the table were dealt with in the same manner.

Thus, they were trapped on the table.

With each passing second, the ants soon explored the entire world, leaving no place unturned.

They reported to the Ant Queen sitting on the Sunflower, using extremely simple and crude primitive language, communicating and reporting the information,

"Our world, sky round ground square."

A robust ant began to move, stepping forward, touching the Ant Queen with agile antennae, akin to a Western nobleman performing a hand-kiss ceremony, exchanging pheromones, "To the southeast, there is an inverted giant mountain plunging into the earth, the mountain's top is broad and flat, with a Sun God Tree in the center, whose flowers resemble the golden sun in the sky."

The table, near the window, with a flowerpot placed atop, naturally allows the sun outside the window to be seen during the day.

It continued to report, tenderly kissing the Ant Queen's antenna, "Atop the Sunflower sits a crown, with a throne, hiding an ancient stele, on which pre prehistoric ancient creatures are recorded as having seen the ancient god Amiro in the sky."

Soon, this ant withdrew.

Another ant responsible for exploring below stepped forward, "Our world, the ground is flat, divided into upper and lower levels, upheld by four pillars."

"Four pillars? Our world is supported by four pillars?"

"Yes, beneath the four pillars lies an unknown, mysterious place, when approached, it's as if there's an endless vast suction, drawing our will."

The Ant Queen was silent for a moment.

Soon, as they explored further, they again fell into aimlessness, extreme panic.

Meanwhile, they clearly sensed that death was approaching. As time flowed, their consciousness began to blur, their bodies began to feel heavy, as if reaching the end of life.

Death...

Is about to descend.

They, like the ancient creatures before, will briefly possess wisdom and then fall.

The Ant Queen was silent for a moment, then lifted the throne, and on a blank space carved her insights, the structure of the entire world... This was her trace of having come to this world before, and she refined the prehistoric text.

Soon, at a visibly fast pace, some ants began to move more slowly.

Fu Qingjun sitting at the table noticed this too.

"Their souls are beginning to decline."

Fu Qingjun lowered his head, picked up the pen, and opened "Desk Creature Experiment Circle No. 01", "Now, the whole thing is clear, those ants before became unconscious after I woke up because their souls had dissipated... and now, these ants, are repeating the same mistake."

Gradually, panic spread at an extremely fast speed. Unsure of who made the first move, the ant swarm completely lost cohesion, in anxious unrest, one ant quickly attacked the ant next to it.

"Obey the master's orders, war, war, war....."

"Killing you surely allows me to survive."

"You've all gone mad."

"Madness... madness..."

The chaos and slaughter had begun in earnest.

The ants started battling wildly, everywhere within the sand castle, as well as on the steps and houses below, they were fighting each other, a complete mess.

Very soon, large groups of ants were dead.

The remaining ants were all heavily wounded, with few left alive.

Fu Qingjun watched this upheaval in ant society, shocked to find that the second war atop the summit was actually initiated by the ants themselves... They believed it was a ritual to summon the master to prevent abandonment.

Ignorance? Pathetic? Blind? Fu Qingjun didn't know how to describe it at that moment, perhaps this was the last hope for life at the end of the road.

The slaughter was violent.

Soon, only a third of the ants remained.

Only the Ant Queen and a group of newborn ants were left, with more from the previous generation of hard-shelled ants that inherited the bodies of their predecessors. As ants that lived through two generations, their sturdy bodies had a higher survival rate.

Fu Qingjun watched silently, suddenly flying a hair strand secretly through the chaos to cleverly pierce one ant at the edge.

Thud!

The ant shivered and twitched as if electrified.

Fu Qingjun attempted to replenish its soul.

Bang!

The entire ant's soul shattered ahead of time.

It was like a round soul water balloon that burst instantly upon the entry of a foreign object.

"Unable to supplement to maintain their intelligence."

Fu Qingjun frowned, watching the violent battle of ants on the table, "In other words, it truly is one-time use? Even if replenished, it would wash away their current consciousness, becoming an entirely new soul, meaning they've already died."

"It seems death is inevitable."

Fu Qingjun suddenly realized this, "Gain and lose! Born sacred, yet only capable of a temporary and fleeting life of greatness, they do not have enough brains to accommodate such vast high-level soul consciousness... they can only wait to dissipate, wait for death."

At this moment, the ants grew increasingly exhausted.

They wailed and mourned, running across the earth, loudly crying out, in immense pain.

If they lack the wisdom to think, then death would not bring pain.

If they do not possess the joy and sorrow of a soul, then death would not bring fear.

But they happen to possess exceptional intelligence, yet it is fleeting, like moths drawn to a flame, experiencing none of life's beauty, not using a clever brain to perceive future happiness, fading to destruction in the blink of an eye.

"In some ways, this is one of the world's most cruel truths..."

"This matter, I cannot solve... no, perhaps, there is a way to resolve this." Fu Qingjun looked at the two martial arts manuals, "If it's that the body is not strong enough, the brain cannot store consciousness..."

"Then strengthen the brain."

"I don't know the way to enhance the brain, but the brain is part of the body, and before me there seems to be some possibility of enhancing the physical body."

Fu Qingjun had previously considered.

Whether he could solve the problem of the soul thoroughly by improving the body through martial arts training.

But can ants learn the human martial arts, the human ways of strengthening the body?

"It is a hope after all." Fu Qingjun suddenly stood up beside the table and said softly.

"Are you searching for me?"

Boom!

Between heaven and earth, suddenly echoed a grand and vast sound.

The voice was distant and ancient, as if penetrating into the deepest part of all ants' souls, carrying an unimaginably gentle and kind feeling, working on the depths of their souls.

He gently drew the curtains, casting a shadow over the table, the world suddenly darkened.

"It's dark now."

The Ant Queen suddenly struggled to rise from the throne, looking excitedly at this earthshaking change, the sky like ink slowly stained onto a canvas, deep and lightless.

"The sun is disappearing."

The light of the world seemed covered by a great shadow.

In the next second, however, a new bright sun seemed to suddenly appear.

A colossal, mysterious giant silhouette towering in the distant unknown void, seeming to be infinitely large, stood with a sun hanging behind it, enveloped in endless gentle holy light.

"It appeared crowned with sunlight, its back shimmering with radiance!"

Countless ants on the table stirred with excitement, as if witnessing the most brilliant, dazzling divine miracle in the world.

"You are looking for me?" Fu Qingjun repeated, drawing the curtains, as his hair struggled to coil around a golden bulb, placed atop his head, glowing golden light, overlooking the entire tabletop before him.

God!!!

All ants looked up in immense shock.

This moment ultimately transformed into eternity, and future generations opened the first page of history, recording the heyday of the Sunflower Myth Golden Pagoda Dynasty on Olympic Mountain, the sacred tombstone inscription saying:

[The heavens suddenly darkened, the sun was obscured, the sky was draped with a curtain, and the Lord descended to the earthly kingdom in divine light]
