Qiao Yuxian brought Zhaocai and Dou Jin to the study.
Zhaocai lay on the carpet by her feet.
Dou Jin looked around the desk, sniffing here and there.
Qiao Yuxian dealt with some of the less urgent work from Xi Mei Media and Yunzhong Building.
Every now and then, she would pet Zhaocai, then Dou Jin.
At noon, she took them downstairs for lunch and then back to the study to continue working.
Huo Yanxin still hadn't returned.
It wasn't until five in the afternoon that Qiao Yuxian finished her work and leaned back in the chair.
"Ah, I'm so tired my eyes are seeing stars," Qiao Yuxian said, dragging her voice.
Zhaocai rubbed its head against her ankle.
Qiao Yuxian dropped her arm to pet its head.
Dou Jin had already fallen asleep beside the computer.
Qiao Yuxian pet Zhaocai, looked at Dou Jin, then leaned back in the chair with her eyes closed for a while, before getting up to pour herself a glass of water.
