Chapter 28 - Chapter 26 Provocation

In the snow, the Blood Wolf Leader casually bit to death a small deer that had come out to forage, shook its head, and looked up at the vast expanse of white land in the distance. The sunset was setting, its afterglow emitting the last rays of light, gradually dimming away.

By the reckoning of time, the cold winter season was almost in its final phase.

The last hours before dawn were evidently the darkest moments.

During this final period, lacking food, fierce beasts that had starved for two months would be driven by hunger to leave their dens, wandering everywhere, hunting anything they could see alive.

During this time, even the Blood Wolf Pack dared not roam freely, staying in their lairs as much as possible to minimize time spent outside.

Of course, as the top hunter in the nearby area, the Blood Wolf Pack didn't need to worry too much.

Given their agility, encountering a hunter of equal standing, even if they couldn't win, they could still outrun them.

The real threat came from enemies in the sky, and those terrifying Magic Beasts that could casually crush them to death, threats which were not many even in the vast Kawa Great Forest.

And once they really encountered one, it would be the time for their total annihilation.

The Blood Wolf Leader climbed onto a high snow mound, looking at the scattered Blood Wolf subordinates around, nodding silently.

It had been nearly ten days since the last attack on the Dragon Nest Village,

although that raid was one of the rare instances where the Blood Wolf Pack suffered heavy losses, the gains were enormous. At least after bringing back the meat from the storehouse, the subordinates had grown considerably fatter these days, alleviating the previous food crisis, making it a huge gain.

Perhaps, once they were short of food again, they could make another attempt in that dragon's territory, to see how dragon meat tasted.

Such a thought suddenly arose in the Blood Wolf Leader's mind.

In the next action, they would definitely move with more confidence. If it weren't for that pesky Goblin sounding the alarm, the losses wouldn't have been so heavy.

Also, after witnessing the Beastman's spear formation, the Blood Wolf Leader wised up, never foolishly charging forward again.

Regarding prey, having suffered once, it would never suffer a second time.

"Awoo!"

Throwing away various thoughts from its mind, the Blood Wolf Leader howled to the sky.

It was calling its subordinates.

With sunset already at hand, it was time to return to the lair.

Figures flitted through the forest, following the path back to the lair.

But right then,

Whoosh!

Suddenly, a fierce wind arose, a massive shadow broke through the snow-laden forest from the sky, gigantic iron claws tearing through the air, scattering electric sparks in the emptiness, grabbing a Blood Wolf before the pack could react, soaring skyward again.

With a tremendous twist, the Blood Wolf caught in mid-air was immediately twisted with terrifying force, accompanied by the snapping of bones, the spinal column inside the Blood Wolf was shattered, the skull fractured, no longer making any sound.

At this moment, the shadow in the sky loosened its claws, and the lifeless Blood Wolf plummeted down like a cannonball toward the Blood Wolf Pack.

Bam!

The Blood Wolf's corpse tumbled several times on the ground, scattering bursts of snowflakes, causing the surrounding Blood Wolves to scatter.

At this moment, the massive shadow in the sky turned, suddenly swooping down again upon a gathering of Blood Wolves.

The Blood Wolf Pack had no time to evade, once more a Blood Wolf was taken, and the shadow repeated its trick, twisting the neck of the Blood Wolf in its claws before dropping it from the sky.

"Roar!!!"

The Blood Wolf Leader erupted with fury, roaring skyward, visible waves of air surged upwards, rippling out as rings of waves.

The shadow in the sky was none other than the Blue Young Dragon Austin!

The Blood Wolf Leader felt immeasurably angry, relying on aerial combat advantage to hunt, such tactics were employed only by that shameless Blue Dragon.

A year ago, the Blood Wolf Pack had suffered greatly from this shameless dragon, if not for later plotting and giving that dragon a hard blow, the Blood Wolf Pack would have long been harassed incessantly by this shameless dragon.

It's like while you were hunting and walking, a big fly kept buzzing overhead, occasionally giving you a bite.

And a year later, encountering the annoying tactic once again, the Blood Wolf Leader immediately became furious.

However, the Blood Wolf Leader's anger did no good, Austin repeated the same tactics, once again hunting a hapless Blood Wolf.

At this point, the repeatedly attacked Blood Wolf Pack finally gathered rapidly, leaning on each other to form a dense pack that as soon as Austin descended again, several Blood Wolves would surely leap onto him to bite and fight.

In response to this pack formation, Austin was not annoyed, leisurely flying back and forth in the sky.

A pack of wolves, once gathered, was no longer something a lone wolf could compare to.

This formation, even Austin dared not to recklessly dive down.

Don't think because these beasts can't fly that they pose no threat to Austin, in fact, the Blood Wolves' jumping power was quite astonishing, and with mutual assistance they could use a fellow pack member as a stepping stone to perform a double jump.

A year ago, it was only due to carelessness that he was almost trapped by these Blood Wolves.

"No rush, after all, these Blood Wolves have no long-range attack methods, eventually there will be a flaw."

Austin was leisurely flying above, while the Blood Wolf Leader roared furiously below, yet to no avail.

After half an hour, the Blue Young Dragon had been flying in the sky all along, sometimes landing on large trees to rest, without hunting further.

After confronting the Blue Young Dragon for over half an hour to no avail, eventually, the Blood Wolf Leader helplessly led the Blood Wolves back to their lair.

However, just as they moved, revealing a flaw, the Blue Young Dragon in the sky launched another rapid assault, swiftly hunting a wandering Blood Wolf using the speed of a Blood Wolf.

Repeatedly, Austin hunted a total of nine Blood Wolves, and each time after twisting the head of a Blood Wolf, he would throw the dead body towards the Blood Wolf Leader.

Under such provocation, the humiliated Blood Wolf Pack, and even the Blood Wolf Leader, was finally overtaken by rage.

Nine of them,

A whole nine! Were all killed using such shameless methods by that detestable Blue Dragon!

"Roar!!!"

Almost explosive anger roared from the Blood Wolf Leader, announcing a war against the Blue Dragon.

From this moment, they would never rest until one of them perished with this shameless Blue Dragon!

Seeing the shameless Blue Dragon in the sky escaping fearfully in a direction, the enraged Blood Wolves below, their anger burning away reasoning, pursued relentlessly in the snowy ground.

Today, that dragon must be turned into a dead dragon!
