Herag had been swimming in the Mother River for so many years that even the slightest change could be keenly sensed.
He had previously sensed that he was very close to the surface of the Mother River, but he couldn't determine the exact distance here, so he wasn't sure how long it would take to reach the surface.
However, on this day, as Herag continued to swim upwards, he suddenly touched something akin to a membrane.
He glanced upward and clearly saw a membrane in front of him.
Before Herag touched this membrane, he hadn't seen its existence.
But after touching it, he saw the membrane's existence, or rather, it appeared in Herag's perception.
What lay beyond the membrane was unknown to Herag.
Yet a surge of instinctual desire to break through this membrane arose from within him.
Herag understood that he had reached the surface of the Mother River.
The only question now was how to break through the surface to reach the world beyond the Mother River.
