An Mo sensed faint soul fluctuations, and his eyes fluttered briefly before he fully opened them.
The first thing he saw was the hair-swirl on the top of Xai Lin's head. He turned to look at the window they hadn't closed before falling asleep and saw that the sun had already set, with the stars already shining prominently.
'It should be about time for that Han Clan's banquet.'
Thinking this, An Mo recalled the soul fluctuations he had just felt and concluded that they were similar to the fluctuations that occur when using those communication jade slips Xai Lin had shown him back on the ship.
'It should be Su Jin contacting Xai-xai.'
Coming to this conclusion, An Mo didn't waste time and gently shake Xai Lin awake.
"Xai-xai, wake up."
Xai Lin wasn't in a deep sleep, so she woke up immediately.
While unconsciously rubbing her eyes, she sat up and turn to look at An Mo before asking.
"Are you okay now?"
An Mo sat up as well and reply with a smile.
"I feel much better now, but we have more important things to do you know."
"Hm? What could be more important than—"
Before Xai Lin could finish her sentence, she happened to glance outside the window at the darken sky and was stunned.
"Damn!"
Xai Lin immediately jumped up off the bed, but before she could fully panic, An Mo laughed and said while grabbing her hand.
"Xai-xai, don't worry, we've only been sleeping for a few hours. The sun sets early on the Dark Moon Continent, remember?"
Upon hearing this, Xai Lin recalled that was indeed the case. On the Dark Moon Continent, the number of hours it receives daylight barely reached ten hours, and the sun setting was quite a contrast. One moment it could be as bright as noon, but the next it could become pitch black.
Xai Lin calmed down and then sat back down on the bed while scratching her slightly messy hair. An Mo scooted over on the bed and came behind her to wrap his arms around her waist.
Resting his chin on her shoulder, An Mo said.
"I sense a message coming in on your communication jade slip. I think it's Su Jin."
Xai Lin raised her eyebrows at that and asked while flipping over her palm.
"You're even able to sense those fluctuations from the communication jade slip while its in Little Bai? Just how strong is your perception?"
Rather than using a storage item, Xai Lin preferred to use a shrunken Little bai to carry her belongings.
"Hmm…"
An Mo thought about it for a moment but then said hesitantly.
"I have nothing to compare it with, so I have no idea, but it should be no less than a Rank 6 beast, or a Soul Severing Realm human cultivator."
Xai Lin looked at the communication jade slip on her palm and thought about it for a moment.
An Mo was able to faintly sense the Heavenly Dao Laws between heaven and earth, something only those in the Soul Severing Realm could accomplish, in order to breakthrough to the Body Integration Realm.
Thinking about it like this, if An Mo could even sense Dao Laws, though faintly, it shouldn't be a surprise that he could sense the fluctuations of a communication jade slip in her room on Little Bai, especially since Little Bai wasn't actively trying to hide it from him.
But with that said, such a perception was still terrifying.
This also gave Xai Lin a more intuitive grasp on how powerful those higher-level existences in the cultivation world were.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Xai Lin condensed her Soul Power and sent it inside the communication jade slip to read the message inside. But not before sending a mental message to Little Bai.
An Mo, who was latched onto Xai Lin, sensed the activation of runes on Xai Lin's body, and he could tell it was Little Bai strengthening his concealment.
It was likely prompted by his Xai-xai, but he was not offended by this—even if those terrifying existences in the cultivation world were all likely in seclusion, one could not be too cautious when traveling the cultivation world.
After a few seconds, Xai Lin put away the communication jade slip and then said.
"You're right, it's Little Jin. He said guests have already begun appearing near the Han Clan. Which means the protective array around their Clan compound will be open soon, making it easier for us to sneak inside."
An Mo pause, then said with a sigh.
"I don't know whether that Seong is lucky or unlucky. A lot of things had to be in place for him to escape the Han Clan, but at the same time he was trapped there for so long. Oh, right… I've been meaning to ask Xai-xai, but how did he escape?"
Xai Lin pursed her lips, then said.
"Seong is of the Yao Race with the bloodline of a Void Beast. He awakened his ability to traverse space, and that's how he escaped."
"He's a Yao Beast?!"
An Mo was slightly surprised. But thinking of something, he said.
"The existence of Yao Beasts is actually extremely special, and their fortune can almost be comparable to true Divine Beasts despite having only half their bloodline. Especially for those Yao Beasts that have an extremely pure beast bloodline to the point that it achieves atavism. Since this Seong can awaken an ability from his ancestors, then his bloodline must have achieved atavism. Which means his fortune is very high—no wonder I couldn't see clearly—"
An Mo's latter sentence was vague, but Xai Lin knew what he wanted to say.
Lifting her hand to rub An Mo's messy black hair, Xai Lin said.
"Let's get change and head outside to meet up with Su Jin. I think it's about time I explain a few things to you and Little Jin in preparation."
Upon hearing this, An Mo's eyebrows shot up, and a broad smile spread across his face before he buried his head in the crook of Xai Lin's neck and said muffledly.
"Alright, I'll listen to Xai-xai."
Xai Lin rolled her eyes at An Mo's actions. It wasn't like she was never going to tell him her circumstances; she was just hesitant about deciding what to reveal.
Without saying anything further, Xai Lin's Soul Power stirred, causing her and An Mo's figures to be sucked into Little Bai—leaving the room empty and deathly silent.
