Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Whispers on the Wind

Days passed like a quiet river, slow and steady. Sovann and Elira shared their routines, their small smiles, and silent moments beneath the ever-changing sky. The village below remained peaceful, unaware of the soft magic settling in the mountains.

One afternoon, as the sun dipped low and painted the clouds pink, Elira stood at the edge of the forest. The wind tugged at her hair and carried a faint, strange sound—a whisper, like a voice caught just beyond hearing.

She closed her eyes and listened. The voice was distant, but it carried sadness and urgency.

Sovann approached quietly. "What do you hear?"

Elira opened her eyes, shimmering with concern. "From my world. A call… but far."

Sovann frowned, stepping closer. "Is it danger?"

She shook her head. "Not yet. But it means… someone is looking for me."

The peaceful mountain air seemed heavier now, as if the quiet world they had built was about to change.

Sovann reached out and took her hand firmly.

"Whatever comes, we face it together."

Elira smiled softly, hope flickering in her eyes.
