Chapter 1 - Raccoon City - Leon Kennedy's First Night as a Cop

The sky is dark and gloomy, with heavy black clouds almost touching the ground.

The rain is falling heavily, pounding the deserted roads with a constant rumble as if playing the tune of the end of the world.

Leon Kennedy was about to begin his first day as a police officer in Raccoon City, but he had no idea that tonight would be the beginning of true hell.

He shuffled along the wet sidewalk, the smell of humidity hitting his nose, and the cold air clinging to his clothes. The city that was vibrant just days ago now looks like a dead, bleak painting.

"Welcome to hell, Leon."

Leon whispered to himself, his eyes darting around, trying to adjust to the utter darkness.

Everything seems dead, but there's a small movement in a distant alley, the sound of muffled whispers escaping from torn throats. Leon holds his breath, raising his gun with slightly trembling hands, his eyes raking the darkness for the source of the sound.

"Get ready, Leon, this isn't for an ordinary night."

He thought to himself, recalling his quick

training, but he hadn't trained for this live chaos, this real terror.

Suddenly, from behind a burning car, a battered zombie, its eyes white, crawls slowly but surely toward Leon.

The sound of its teeth gritting as it opens its blood-stained mouth fills the place with indescribable horror.

Leon breathed rapidly, concentrated, and then fired a shot from his pistol at the zombie's head, which fell to the ground, swaying but still writhing.

The silence didn't last long, as more sounds began to approach, many feet marching firmly and ruthlessly.

Suddenly, the Laker emerged from the darkness, a tall monster with bulging muscles and skin that resembled dead skin, eyes that gleamed with indescribable malice, and a giant knife that he brandished in a terrifying manner.

Leon felt terror surge through his veins.

He tried to shoot, but quickly realized that bullets wouldn't scratch this monster.

Leon ran through the streets, trying not to make a sound that would attract more creatures.

Despite the anxiety and terror, Leon's mind resisted collapsing.

At a moment's pause, he turned to see the Laker approaching at a frightening speed.

The end was near.

Amidst this terror, there was a faint sound, a sound of precise footsteps, unlike any of the creatures he had known.

Something different...Something mysterious.

Leon couldn't see anything clearly at that moment, but there was a strange feeling in his heart, as if something... or someone was watching him from the shadows.

Then the dim lamplight went out, and the city, with all its shadows and secrets, awaited the next moment...

Time slows down... rain weighs down the air... and the city is dying.

Leon Kennedy ran through the narrow alleys as if he were running from an unknown ghost, but the truth was worse than any ghost...Behind him was Laker, moving along the walls like a spider, his long tongue writhing like a snake, searching for the next prey.

"(Damn... this isn't what I trained for!)"

Leon's voice spoke to himself between ragged breaths, his heart nearly exploding.

"(Is this a city... or a living nightmare?)"

Leon thought, as he watched the shadow of a creature move lightly on the roof of a building, then disappear.

"(Stay calm... focus... don't be stupid.)"

This sentence repeated itself in Leon Kennedy's mind as he ran through the dark alley, his footsteps slamming against the blood-tinged water, the sound of rain above his head as if the sky were screaming with him.

"This is my first day... I was supposed to sign some papers... smile at my colleagues... receive a welcome"

A faint laugh escaped his lips, but it turned into a heavy sigh as he turned around, his heart nearly bursting out of his chest.

Two zombies... no, three... slowly dragging their feet toward him, their eyes dead, their mouths open as if they were suffering from eternal hunger.

"Were these normal people? Family? Friends? Cops?"

He no longer knew... everything was blurred.

The city he'd read so much about was now like a living nightmare.

Suddenly—a thud behind him.

Leon turns cautiously, the gun in his hand trembling, and there's... something moving on the walls.

The Licker.

The sound was like an iron blade dragging across bone.

The creature slithers smoothly, its long tongue sticking out and twisting in the air, its blind eyes glowing despite the darkness.

"(Don't make a sound... Don't even breathe!)"

The Laker approaches... Slowly passing by...The smell of burning flesh fills Leon's nostrils, and the creature makes strange sounds of concern, then...it moves away.

But the biggest surprise?A scream! From afar!A human scream... a female one? ... something human.

Leon moves toward the source of the sound, crossing a street half-burned, half-flooded.

He finds a little girl trying to escape from two zombies. Leon runs to protect the girl and opens fire.

Two precise shots, the two zombies fall... the child runs away, disappears... but he feels like he's saved something inside him that's more than just human.

At that moment, lightning strikes in the distance, illuminating the city for a second.

And in that second, he sees the Laker's body standing on a rooftop, watching him...as if waiting for the right moment to attack.

Leon Kennedy paused for a moment, collected himself, took a deep breath, and raised his pistol with greater certainty than before.

He was no longer the confused young man, but a man who knew this battle was not an option, but his destiny.

He moved with measured steps, monitoring the monster's movements.

Every move was calculated, every breath measured, and his eyes tracked the smallest movement of the creature pursuing him.

He fired cautiously, aiming for the monster's face, but he knew the Licker wasn't easy to kill. The monster let out a muffled scream in response, then charged with incredible speed, attempting to strike Leon with its claws.

Leon skillfully dodged the blow, using the city environment to his advantage. He leaped into an abandoned building, pursued furiously by the Licker.

Inside the building, the lights flickered, the wind howled, and the sounds of zombies groaning behind the walls echoed.

Leon felt adrenaline pumping through his veins, but his mind remained calm.

He remembered his training, his promise to himself to stay strong for the city, for the victims, for everything that was right.

He took a narrow path downstairs and encountered a group of zombies gathered around another door.

Leon quickly interrupted them, striking one of them hard in the head before shooting two more.

"I'm not just a victim."

He whispered to himself, and despite his fatigue, his heart was pounding with determination.

Suddenly, a deafening explosion shook the building, breaking the terrifying silence of the night.

It was a grenade, or perhaps an explosion in a nearby power station, he didn't know.

But the sound caught the Laker's attention, who paused for a moment, giving Leon a chance to escape.

He ran through a dark corridor, the screams of the monster behind him, but he didn't look back.

The entire city had become a battlefield, and every moment was a new challenge.

At that moment, Leon's thoughts began to calm down, restoring his balance:

"This isn't just a mission... this is a battle for survival.

I can't allow fear to take over.

I must act wisely, stay alive... to protect the innocent."

The sound of heavy footsteps approached, and Leon slowly turned around, spotting the Licker, who hadn't given up, but was becoming more violent.

This confrontation wasn't just with the monster, but with himself.

His fear, his anger, and all the doubts that had assailed him for the past few nights.

With a swift blow, Leon landed a powerful blow with the pistol to the Licker's face, temporarily weakening him.

He seized the opportunity and escaped through a hole in the wall, leaping out onto the street.

The rain was still falling heavily, washing away the blood and cleansing the city of whispers of death.

Leon paused for a moment, closing his eyes, then opened them with renewed steadiness.

"The night has no end, but I will still stand."

And in the shadows, far from Leon's sight, a mysterious figure watches everything.

A ghost lurks in the darkness, its intentions still unknown, but it holds the key to everything to come.
