The Contract

An Oath of Entry Into the Sovereign Trials

Authored by Lucien Vallois De Sévigné.

———

To those who dare to seek fortune, glory, and their darkest desires—

By signing this sacred scroll, you agree to compete in the Sovereign Trials. Here, you will risk body, mind, and spirit, under the watchful gaze of your Host, Lucien Vallois De Sévigné.

You are bound by this agreement. To enter is to forfeit the world you once knew.

———

ARTICLE I — The Prize of the Trials

In the grandest of wagers, twenty-five souls shall compete, and one shall emerge victorious.

A sum of 25 million pounds awaits the one who proves worthy.

But beware—what you think you know of fortune may not be what you find.

This prize is not simply handed. It is earned, taken, and claimed through cunning, strength, and deception.

The sum is real.

The stakes are immense.

The final winner may not be who you expect.

ARTICLE II — The Rules of the Game [Latin]

1. Twenty-five players, chosen and invited by the Host.

2. You are allowed to lie about your name and age if desired, for any clues about yourself could or not be used against you.

3. You will face daily trials, each more daunting than the last.

4. The trials are divided into the domains of:

Strength.

Intelligence.

Strategy.

Morality.

Endurance.

And others still, of an even darker nature.

5. Clues will be given. Secrets will be revealed. Some will win.

And the winner of each trial shall receive advantages—not just in the trials, but toward the grand prize itself.

ARTICLE III — On Secrecy and Binding Oath

By signing this agreement, you swear:

To keep the details of The Sovereign Trials undisclosed.

To hold the secrets of the island and the trials within your soul, forever.

To obey the commands of the Host or face consequences beyond death's reach.

Failure to adhere will result in disqualification, and a price far steeper than any riches you may have sought.

ARTICLE IV — The Host's Will [Latin]

Lucien Vallois De Sévigné, the Sovereign Host of this grand spectacle, is judge, executioner, and master of all that happens on this island. His will is final.

As you face trial after trial, the island's secret heart may reveal itself. But the prize—the money—its true nature, and its final bearer, will remain unknown until the moment it is claimed.

Let no soul believe that the path to victory is straight, nor that the road ahead is one of mere trials.

It is a game of the highest stakes, and only the most cunning shall walk away unscathed.

ARTICLE V — Acceptance of Tests [Latin]

By signing this contract, you allow the Host's to put you to all kinds of tests prior to your entrance in the Trials of the Sovereign.

Your pre-entry assessment will include:

1. Medical Examination

A full medical clearance is required for entry, ensuring all participants are physically capable and have no underlying health conditions that would impede the trials.

General Physical Health:

Blood tests for disease, viruses, and hidden medical conditions (e.g., HIV, hepatitis, etc.).

Physical exam to check for injuries, heart conditions, respiratory health, and overall fitness.

Body fat percentage measured, ensuring that contestants are physically fit or at least not in a state that would give them an unfair advantage or disadvantage.

Mental Health Evaluation:

Psychological testing to assess mental stability, intelligence, and emotional resilience.

Cognitive function test (including memory, reaction time, problem-solving ability).

Stress response simulation: Participants are put under high-pressure scenarios to see how they react.

Sexual and Reproductive Health:

Pregnancy test for women, ensuring no one is pregnant before they enter the trials.

Birth control verification: Those without birth control or an IUD are fitted with one, ensuring there are no unwanted pregnancies during the trials.

STD screening for sexual diseases or infections.

Drug and Substance Testing:

Full drug screening to check for narcotics, prescription drugs, or anything that could alter their abilities or create an unfair advantage.

Blood alcohol test: Ensuring no one is under the influence before starting the trials.

2. Physical Fitness and Endurance Test

Participants need to prove they are in the right physical condition to withstand the tests ahead. This includes a series of tasks meant to assess:

Strength:

Weightlifting and resistance training tests.

Push-ups, pull-ups, squats, and other strength-based exercises to gauge physical power.

Stamina:

Long-distance running, swimming, or obstacle courses to test cardiovascular endurance.

Controlled breathing exercises to see how well they handle exhaustion.

Agility and Reflexes:

Agility drills, like dodging projectiles or weaving through tight spaces to assess speed, coordination, and reflexes.

Eye-hand coordination tests (e.g., hitting targets with projectiles or quick reflex tests).

Pain Tolerance:

Exposure to controlled physical discomfort, such as holding weights or tolerating cold/heat for extended periods.

Tests of stamina and pain endurance (e.g., pain-inducing but safe devices like electroshock).

3. Psychological Profiling and Mental Fortitude Test

The mental preparation is just as important as the physical. Lucien would ensure that each contestant is psychologically equipped for the twisted games ahead.

Personality and Psychological Evaluation:

Personality test to determine traits like narcissism, aggressiveness, manipulation tendencies, and empathy levels.

Morality test: Psychological questions designed to explore the participants' sense of right and wrong. E.g., "Would you sacrifice one person to save five?"

Deception test: Participants are lied to in different ways to gauge how easily they trust others, and their ability to detect lies.

Stress Management:

Isolation test: Participants are put in solitary confinement for a period of time to assess their reaction to isolation.

Pressure simulation: A high-stress environment is created where participants are tested on how well they manage multiple tasks under extreme pressure. (E.g., solving puzzles while being subjected to loud noises, bright lights, and physical discomfort).

Sleep deprivation: Extended periods without sleep to see how well they handle fatigue and stress.

Emotional Resilience:

Manipulative psychological scenarios: Participants are given emotionally charged challenges designed to test how they respond to grief, fear, anger, and betrayal.

Fear and phobia exposure: Gradual exposure to things they are afraid of (e.g., heights, enclosed spaces, spiders) to evaluate how they control fear.

4. Behavioral and Social Manipulation Evaluation

Because social manipulation and deception are key aspects of the games, the participants are tested for their ability to manipulate, deceive, and outwit others.

Group Dynamic Observation:

Observing how participants interact with each other in small groups, paying attention to leadership skills, manipulation tactics, and social hierarchy behavior.

"Divide and conquer" scenarios: Participants are deliberately put in situations that cause division among others, and their responses are noted.

Cooperation and Betrayal:

Trust-building tasks: Tasks that require group cooperation to see if they can build trust or take advantage of others.

Betrayal scenarios: Participants are put in situations where betraying another would benefit them—how do they act? Do they take advantage or try to maintain loyalty?

Collaboration under stress: Participants must work with someone they may not trust under intense pressure.
