Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: I Am Doflamingo

Year 1592

"Ow, ow, ow... What happened? My head hurts so much! Where am I?" Doflamingo sat up in bed, massaging his temples and trying to clear his thoughts.

A sharp headache then struck him, and memories began to flood his mind: The World Nobles. Doflamingo. Pirate King. Roger. Luffy. One Piece...

"This, this, this! I'm in the world of One Piece? Fufufufu! Amazing! How interesting! World Nobles, the D Family, Im-sama... Fufufufu! If that's the case, then I'll make this world even more chaotic and exciting! But I won't fail this time, I'm no longer the Doflamingo from before."

With his mind organized, Doflamingo already understood the vastness of this world and felt a burning ambition grow in his chest.

"Since I ended up in this world, how could I not live a life full of excitement? How could I dishonor the gift destiny gave me? Fufufufu!" Outside the room, Donquixote Homing Saint and Rosinante heard the laughter and rushed in, their faces full of worry. "Doffy, are you okay? It's all father's fault, I made both of you suffer."

Upon hearing his father's words, Doflamingo immediately stiffened. The veins on his forehead bulged, betraying painful memories.

Rosinante looked at his brother's cold expression and, scared, hugged his father's legs, hiding behind him.

Doflamingo, despite still being a child, was no longer the naive little boy from before. Having gone through all that, so cruel and revolting, made him understand that without power, you don't even choose how you die.

Just one day earlier, the commoners oppressed by the World Nobles had revolted. Father and sons were tied up and hung on the city walls, almost lynched. If Doflamingo hadn't awakened Conqueror's Haki, the outcome would have been uncertain.

The memory of those atrocities erased any remaining good humor in Doflamingo. Ignoring the expressions of his father and brother, he merely muttered in a low voice: "I'm fine. There's nothing wrong. Leave me alone for a bit."

Having said that, he got out of bed. He cast a complex glance at his brother and father beside him and left, without hesitation.

Walking under the sun, Doflamingo began to explore the memories that had surfaced.

The newly unlocked memories revealed that, in his past life, he was an ordinary worker on Earth, a salaried employee stuck in a 996 routine that didn't allow him hobbies. He only liked watching anime, and One Piece was, without a doubt, a significant work for someone in his condition.

Luffy? Who didn't know him?!

Still, he never imagined that, being an exemplary young adult, he would be hit and killed by a meteor on his way home. "This is unbelievable! Even I don't believe this!"

"I, Julius, never did harm in my life. In fact, I did many good things, I loved helping old ladies cross the street. I didn't expect to have this kind of 'reward.' That meteor shouldn't have hit the villains?! Damn it!!!"

Doflamingo shook his head, pushing away the confusing thoughts. The past could not be changed; the previous life was already history, and looking back now was in vain. "Since destiny gave me a second chance, I, Julius, the Batman... no, I am now Doflamingo! A real man must build a great legacy. I will leave my mark on this world!" Doflamingo thought.

"Fufufufu!" As his laughter echoed further and further away, the pigeons in the sky flew far off.

"System, are you there? Since something so absurd happened to me, won't a system come to help me dominate?" A terrifying silence hung in the air, only Doflamingo's voice could be heard, bordering on despair.

"Damn it! I knew there was no such good thing. Those who start with a system? I truly envy them! It's all lies. If there was a system, I wouldn't be afraid of anything, I'd kick Kaido and smash Big Mom! Of course, I can only count on myself to shape the future. The future is mine, and there's still time."

"Look! That World Noble bastard is there! Get him! This time, he can't survive!" Voices full of hatred interrupted Doflamingo's thoughts. Seeing that it was the same group of wicked commoners, Doflamingo quickly fled.

"Damn them! Those insects, I won't spare a single one! I'm still too young, I have no power at all!" Doflamingo ran out of the group's sight, huffing with anger.

The priority now was to increase his strength. This ten-year-old body was incredibly young. Although he wasn't one of the "monsters" born in the sea, he didn't want to continue being as pathetic and humble as before, being hated by others even for being alive. That was definitely not what he wanted. He just wanted to live in peace!

"I just wanted to live in peace, and you don't even allow me that. Fufufufu! Oh, then let's turn this world upside down!" Doflamingo muttered.

It seemed there was only one way. Although he despised those people, now, only by cooperating with them, could he obtain everything he desired, step by step.

He would have to do as in the anime, go after those four people. With that in mind, he headed to the location that came to him in his memories.

On this path, Doflamingo walked faster and faster, his steps becoming firmer. Because ahead of him was the road to the Throne.

There will only be one King, and that will be me, Donquixote Doflamingo...
