Inside the izakaya.
Shindai sat smoking and sipping on his drink.
Seeing Shindai like this, Obito frowned and asked, "Hey Shindai, you seem kinda off today?"
"Really? Maybe it's because I've become a real man now~"
Shindai exhaled a puff of smoke, his face shadowed with weariness.
Shindai asked, "So, Kakashi, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Well... about that pair of glasses of yours..."
Kakashi's goal was Shindai's glasses—they were clearly custom-made for him.
But after tricking Shindai last time, Kakashi felt awkward asking. However, since he was about to go on an outside mission soon, he decided to give it a shot.
"Oh, the glasses? Here."
Shindai retrieved a scroll from his ninja gear pouch and tossed it to Kakashi.
Seeing how straightforwardly Shindai threw the scroll at him, Kakashi was startled. He immediately dodged aside as the scroll passed by him and fell onto the ground.
Shindai looked puzzled, "What are you doing? Don't you want it?"
Suspicious, Kakashi asked, "Did you do something to it?"
Shindai tilted his head, looking confused, "Do something? What are you talking about?"
Obito snapped, "Don't play dumb. You totally did something. There's no way you'd just hand it over like that. You're still out for revenge—especially against Kakashi, since it was his idea!"
Rin Nohara pleaded, "Shindai, please forgive them two."
Naruto almost ducked under the table. He was the one behind everything that happened last time—but Shindai still didn't know.
Shindai took a sip of alcohol, "What are you talking about? I don't care about that incident anymore. I'm not the same person now—I've matured, I won't act so childish anymore. I'm an adult now."
Obito and the other two exchanged uneasy glances as they looked at Shindai.
Out of everyone, Shindai had always been the most short-tempered, and Obito had seen it happen countless times.
He'd act indifferent, then strike without warning.
"If you're really worried, I'll just summon the glasses directly for you."
Shindai moved his fingers slightly, and a mass of Iron Sand Body wrapped around the scroll on the ground, lifting it into the air in front of him.
Shindai opened the scroll and summoned the glasses from within.
"There. Happy now?"
Shindai tossed the glasses to Kakashi again.
This time Kakashi caught them, but instead of examining the glasses, he stared at Shindai, disbelief filling his eyes.
Obito and the other two also wore expressions of utter shock.
[Whoosh—]
Kakashi, Obito, and Rin Nohara pushed Naruto aside while he was having a drink next to Shindai, then took his place, showing great concern for him.
"Shindai, what's going on? Don't hold back!"
"Yeah, don't go doing something stupid! Your life's just starting!"
"Shindai, if you're having difficulties, just say so. We'll all help you out!"
Shindai rolled his eyes. "You three… Back in the day, just sitting next to me would've counted as impressive. I'm perfectly fine!"
"Really?"
"Seriously, I'm fine. Back off a bit—stop grabbing my hand! You made me spill my drink!"
Obito and the other two returned to their original seats.
Puzzled, Obito asked, "But… something must've happened to make your attitude do a complete 180 overnight, right?"
"I don't feel like talking much with you three kids. We're on different levels now. Kakashi, put this on and try it out."
The trio felt genuinely puzzled. Shindai was acting way too strange today.
Kakashi put on the glasses and pressed the button. Immediately, various parameters appeared within his field of vision.
Shindai explained to Kakashi, "This upgraded version of the glasses is hands-down my best work so far. Based on the original design, I've added a predictive function. You should've already experienced it somewhat before, but this ability does have its limits. It can't predict someone moving at excessive speeds, and you shouldn't fully trust the prediction either—it's only meant as a reference since people always have unexpected moments.
"In addition, based on the opponent's hand seals, it can judge in advance what kind of Ninjutsu they're preparing to use. For example..."
[Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!] Shindai formed the hand seals.
At the moment Shindai began forming the first seal, the word "Fire" appeared inside Kakashi's glasses, followed by a probability rating of 66.66%.
As Shindai continued making seals, the likelihood of Fire Release increased to one hundred percent. Once all the seals had been completed, the chance of [Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique] appearing dropped slightly to ninety-nine percent.
Shindai continued, "You can only tell exactly which technique the opponent will use once they finish all the seals, but you can still figure out what elemental Ninjutsu they're about to perform and counter accordingly.
"But since I don't know many techniques myself, the number of identifiable ones remains limited. However, these glasses have learning capabilities—whenever you encounter a new Ninjutsu, the glasses will record it automatically.
"Likewise, due to the recording function, once an opponent performs a technique, you can review their sealing process anytime. And if your abilities are sufficient, you could even replicate and execute the same technique. In a way, it shares a remarkably similar function to the Sharingan."
Kakashi exclaimed in amazement, "These glasses suit me perfectly! Shindai, you're not exactly known for being reliable, yet somehow you always pull through with solid gear!"
Shindai retorted, "When have I *ever* been unreliable, seriously?"
Obito stared enviously at Kakashi's glasses and said to Shindai, "Shindai, can I get one too?"
Shindai refused, saying, "You have the Sharingan. Why would you need this? Wearing these goggles will only hinder your Sharingan."
After hearing that it might interfere with his Sharingan, Obito decided to give up.
In a worried tone, Obito asked, "Shindai, are you sure you're okay?"
Shindai retorted, "What could possibly happen to me? I'm just going to the restroom."
After Shindai left for the restroom, the three of them surrounded Naruto.
Naruto asked blankly, "Wh-what's going on?"
"Naruto, what exactly happened to Shindai? Why did he suddenly start behaving like this?"
"I don't know either~"
"Then when did he start acting this way?"
Naruto thought for a moment before replying, "Well… Yesterday during the day, Shindai seemed totally normal. Then this morning he was already like this."
Kakashi speculated, "Then the problem must've occurred last night. Do you know what happened last night?"
Naruto recalled, "I'm not exactly sure either, but last night I heard some strange sounds—seemed like Shindai begging for mercy, as if he were playing some game with Sister Pakura and Sister Hikaku."
Rin Nohara asked curiously, "Playing games? Begging for mercy?"
"I heard things like 'Please spare me! I can't take it anymore… My waist is giving out… I'm still a virgin, you know. Don't tie me up anymore, I surrender…' That's all I heard. Then this morning when Shindai opened the door, his legs were shaking nonstop."
Obito, Kakashi, and Rin Nohara widened their eyes. Could it be…? Did he finally do it?
