Chapter 254 - UK:GSW Chapter 254: Black Zetsu — Now It's My Time to Stir Things Up

After an unpleasant first meeting and experience, Tobirama Senju finally came to understand everything about this Genjutsu Great World.

When he learned it was a world built from genjutsu, and that his brother and his brother's grandson Nawaki were both revived and living second lives here thanks to Uchiha Kei's Dead Reincarnation, Tobirama narrowed his eyes.

After a moment of silence, Tobirama muttered, "A genjutsu world? Could a mere genjutsu really achieve this level?"

He pondered and doubted. As the ultimate expert in researching the Uchiha clan, Tobirama did not believe ordinary genjutsu could reach such heights—not even with the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Unless…

It advanced beyond Mangekyō.

But was that possible?

In any case, Tobirama remained skeptical.

Although Uchiha Kei felt mysterious and dangerous, he didn't give off the same overwhelming pressure as Madara Uchiha. Tobirama had great confidence in his own senses and intuition.

Especially now—strengthened after returning from *Dark Souls*—Tobirama Senju was no ordinary man.

Even so, he knew it wasn't the time to delve into such questions. He had been through much and needed time to digest everything—to sort through his thoughts and emotions.

Uchiha Kei, recognizing this, left the Senju family to themselves for now, intending to return in a few days…

To turn Tobirama into a research workhorse!

"I can't let this continue. If it goes on, Madara might abandon the Eye of the Moon Plan, and my plan to save Mother will utterly fail!"

"What's more, the Hidden Leaf's situation is growing increasingly abnormal. If things keep developing like this, the ninja world's balance will collapse completely. Once the Leaf dominates all, even if Madara still tries to advance the Eye of the Moon Plan, it may end in total failure!"

"I must act!"

Beneath the Naka Shrine, in the secret base where the Ten-Tails' husk was hidden—Madara Uchiha's new true base—Black Zetsu ranted in frustration. These were his private thoughts, a clear reflection of how he felt over the past few months.

Madara had changed!

He really had changed!

Though he still claimed to follow through with the Eye of the Moon Plan, everything about him now screamed "lost in gaming, hopelessly addicted, abandoning all plans."

What frustrated Black Zetsu most was that none of his persuasion worked on the current Madara, who had completely fallen under the spell of his "reincarnated best friend." Black Zetsu now felt like a schemer whose pawn had been blinded by a white moonlight crush—utterly helpless.

Thus, amid panic and rage, Black Zetsu decided—it was time to stir things up.

In fact, the fact that Black Zetsu had stayed quietly here for months without causing chaos was already suspicious.

Back in the day, it was Black Zetsu who manipulated the Asura and Indra brothers, Uchiha Izuna, and the entire Uzumaki clan—leading them to hatred, destruction, or annihilation. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

Even the underground bounty exchange system, now flourishing in the ninja underworld, was a Black Zetsu creation—intended to keep the ninja world in perpetual chaos.

Now, Hashirama regretted not uniting the ninja world with Madara back then. But in truth, even if they had, Black Zetsu would have sabotaged it posthumously—plunging the world into disorder again, even destroying the Leaf outright.

For this ancient schemer, anything that interfered with saving his mother had to be eliminated. And now, genjutsu games were just such a threat.

Unfortunately, his original plan against Uchiha Kei had failed. Worse, Kei had traumatized him with a foul-tasting jutsu that gave him psychological scars, making him too afraid to approach the Hidden Leaf's surface—lest he be hit with another.

Well… not that he couldn't approach. He just couldn't go above ground. Underground, he could still move.

Thanks to that, he could still visit Madara, who now stayed beneath the gaming arcade.

All his intel on the Hidden Leaf came from White Zetsu now. So his information was only surface-level—he had no clue about Kei's true state.

Thus, given the current intel, Black Zetsu decided he had to act elsewhere. For now, there was nothing he could do in the Hidden Leaf. Kei never left the village, and Madara was hopelessly addicted to games. Any chaos he stirred up would draw attention.

So after much deliberation, Black Zetsu initiated a backup plan.

He possessed a White Zetsu body, handed over control of the base to the others, and used the Mayfly Jutsu to leave.

Once he left, the remaining White Zetsu exchanged glances—then chuckled knowingly.

Before long, news of this reached Uchiha Kei.

"Black Zetsu left alone? Headed toward the Land of Wind? What's he doing there?"

Stroking his chin, Kei fell deep into thought.

Through the White Zetsu network, he had long been aware of Black Zetsu's anxiety. He had been prepared for this.

Given Black Zetsu's obsessive mission to save Kaguya, it was inevitable he would act, especially with Madara losing himself.

Now, Black Zetsu's actions merely confirmed Kei's prediction.

But… what was his goal?

"The Land of Wind… Could he be trying to trigger the Third Great Ninja War?"

"No, that won't work. Unless he assassinates the Third Kazekage, it won't be enough."

"Even if the Third Kazekage dies, it'd only spark conflict between the Hidden Leaf and Hidden Sand—if that. Given how economically dependent the Sand is on the Leaf now, they'd be reluctant to go to war. Too many of their ninja would lose work—the opposition would be intense."

"In fact, they're more likely to clash with Iwagakure instead…"

As he murmured to himself, Kei suddenly thought of something else.

"Rōran…"

Yes, he remembered the country of Rōran—a place absent from the manga, featured only in a movie.

In this version of the world, Rōran existed. It was a tiny, sealed-off country beside the Land of Wind—nominally its vassal.

But being so small and isolated in the western deserts, and having no valuable resources, the Land of Wind had always ignored it. Their attitude was basically: "I won't oppress you, but if famine hits, don't come crying to me."

This made Rōran awkward—poor and without prospects, spiraling into decline.

By now, the country was likely on the brink of collapse.

But beneath it lay the Dragon Vein—a source of massive energy, said in the movie to be capable of altering time itself.

In that movie, Naruto used the Dragon Vein to travel back in time and meet a young Minato Namikaze.

Given the current timeline, that story would align roughly with now. Perhaps the exact timing hadn't arrived—or the butterfly effect had changed things. But the mission that originally sent Minato to Rōran hadn't happened.

Kei rubbed his chin, mind racing.

Undoubtedly, the Dragon Vein was powerful. In the movie, its use was cautious. In the end, Minato sealed it away, making it part of history.

But in this real ninja world, the Dragon Vein's potential was too vast. And an ancient schemer like Black Zetsu would certainly know of it. If he was headed there… Kei had to take it seriously.

No one knew what Black Zetsu might do with it. If he reversed or distorted time—disaster could strike.

With that in mind, Kei ordered the White Zetsu to track Black Zetsu more closely and recruit more "awakened" White Zetsu in the Land of Wind. They still lacked enough presence there to fully monitor the region like they did in the Leaf and Fire Country.

Once those arrangements were made, Kei sent a group message through his internal network.

"Everyone, something's happened—possibly major. Get into the Genjutsu World for an emergency meeting."

Those who received the message immediately dropped what they were doing. Some excused themselves to find a private space.

One by one, they entered the spiritual network world.

The Legendary Sannin, Minato, and Sasori.

All key decision-makers or strategic minds.

Sasori, a rogue ninja from the Hidden Sand, was a surprise to most of the group—Orochimaru was already familiar, having worked with him before. But to Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Minato, it was their first time seeing him.

They knew of him—his crimes were infamous. But they hadn't expected to see him in the Genjutsu World.

A quick explanation followed. They learned Sasori had been "recruited" by Uchiha Kei and had become a rogue ninja due to their connection. His talents were laid out clearly.

Orochimaru even offered glowing praise, vouching personally for Sasori's abilities and his critical role in advancing the network project.

Thus, Sasori was officially introduced to the Hidden Leaf's current and future leadership.

Jiraiya, though now obsessed with producing adult games, still handled important affairs. Tsunade gave him various administrative jobs—researching village security, negotiating with ninja clans, analyzing external intelligence, etc.

In a way, Jiraiya had taken over the role Danzo once filled—minus the shadows. Jiraiya walked in the light.

It was recently announced that Jiraiya would oversee the village orphanage. After learning its condition, he cursed Danzo aloud, then secured funding for expansion.

Why did he curse Danzo?

Because Danzo had once managed the orphanage—and anyone could guess what he had done there.

In canon, Danzo drove the orphanage to ruin. Its head, Nonō Yakushi, was manipulated and killed. Her Godson, Kabuto Yakushi—the future "dreamer" of the ninja world—was forced to kill her, setting him on a dark path.

Truly, Danzo earned his title as the Hidden Leaf's scapegoat—many tragedies and evils stemmed from his hand.

Now, the old fool was paralyzed and living in disgrace, ignored by everyone. A fitting end.

Incidentally, due to Jiraiya's full support of the orphanage, he gained their love and admiration. The 24-year-old Yakushi Nonō, expected to be the next director, now looked at Jiraiya with… different eyes.

Jiraiya himself had no idea. He was too lost in his new work, enamored with the girls in his game projects. To him, "women of the Genjutsu World are best—real women are trash."

Back to the meeting—after Sasori's introduction, Kei finally revealed the main agenda: Black Zetsu's sudden movements toward the Land of Wind.

He shared his suspicions about Rōran and the Dragon Vein beneath it.
