Chapter 29 - Glitter, Gossip, and Guys with Guns

Sky's POV – Girls' Day (feat. Mafia Babysitters in Disguise)

The second I stepped out of the house in my glitter heels and pastel strawberry-printed dress, Rain sighed like he aged a decade and Ren muttered something about losing brain cells by the minute.

Which meant: perfect outfit.

"Where are we going again?" Ren asked as I skipped ahead, bag bouncing, lip gloss shimmering in the sunlight.

"Girls' day."

Rain raised a brow. "You invited us."

"Correct. You are honorary girls for the day. Deal with it."

"Do we have a choice?" he muttered.

"Nope," I chirped.

And off we went.

---

Stop #1: Café Cuteness Overload

It was pink.

It was frilly.

It was adorable.

And both Ren and Rain looked like undercover assassins trying not to breathe too hard in case they accidentally murdered a doily.

"This is humiliating," Ren whispered.

"You ordered the unicorn frappe," I reminded him.

"You dared me to!"

"And you're a grown man who still listens to me. Pathetic."

Rain sipped his strawberry latte like it personally offended him.

"You both are lucky you're hot," I sighed.

They blinked.

"Excuse me?" Rain asked.

"Nothing," I said sweetly.

---

Stop #2: Shopping Spree of Chaos

"I'm not wearing this," Rain stated, holding up a cropped pastel hoodie that said Cuddle Me, I Bite.

"Coward," I told him.

Ren disappeared into a fitting room and came out five minutes later wearing oversized heart sunglasses and a Hello Kitty sweater.

"You look like a threat to national security," Rain commented.

"Aw," I gasped, "he looks adorable. Take a pic!"

Rain took the phone. "If this gets leaked to the underworld, I'm telling them you forced us."

"You love it," I said.

He didn't deny it.

---

Stop #3: Arcade Mayhem

"Okay but like—how are you this bad at claw machines?" I asked as Ren failed for the sixth time in a row.

"They're rigged!" he snapped.

"Give me that."

I, of course, won a giant sparkly duck on the second try.

Rain muttered, "Witchcraft."

We played air hockey (I destroyed them both), danced like idiots on the rhythm game, and ended up buying thirty bucks' worth of candy just because Ren liked those sour rainbow strips.

At some point, I caught Rain smiling at me like I was the center of gravity.

I pretended not to notice.

But my cheeks flamed traitorously.

---

Stop #4: Rooftop Sunset + Ice Cream

We sat on the edge of a quiet rooftop, overlooking the city. I had bubblegum ice cream. Ren had cookie dough. Rain was eating vanilla with that same unreadable look in his eyes.

"You know," I murmured, "a few weeks ago, I didn't think I'd laugh again."

They stayed silent.

"And now here I am, dragging two mafia idiots through glitter cafes and claw machine battles."

Ren laughed softly. "Sounds like Stockholm Syndrome."

I elbowed him. "Sounds like family."

Rain turned his head toward me. His eyes were warm. Soft. Honest.

"You make the dark things feel lighter," he said quietly.

I blinked. "Rain…"

"I mean it."

Ren tossed his empty cup into the bin and stretched. "Alright, emotional lovebirds, group selfie or we're doing this whole day again."

I grinned, pulling them both in, arms over shoulders.

Ren smiled wide.

Rain didn't—but he leaned into me.

Click.

Captured: Me in the middle, the spark between them, the laughter, the chaos, the healing.

Girls' day?

More like Sky's day.

And I think, just maybe, we're gonna be okay.
