Chapter 2 - sisterly affection

Sophia cried her eyes out as her shoulders shook violently. After what seemed like forever, she finally got up from her bed because her hand maid announced that her sister, princess Aria came visiting.

Aria left her chamber immediately she found out about the decree to check on her sister, sophia. But why will their father choose to send sophia who's the youngest among them all. Why???

Even after abandoning their mother because he misunderstood her to give birth to a bastard's child, he won't stop at nothing to make the lives miserable.

Getting to sophia's chamber, sophia ran into Aria's embrace like a shot out of an arrow. Aria hugged her sister tightly. Moments later, sophia's shoulders started shaking again, signalling that she was crying.

Aria rubbed sophia's back soothingly, trying to coax her to stop crying and that everything was going to be fine, but instead, it fueled sophia's pain, then her voice came brokenly. "He could have chosen not to sign the treaty of he doesn't want to, but he chose to send me off to that kingdom where it is not guaranteed that I may come back unscathed".

Wu wu... sophia sobbed "He's just a cold blooded man who doesn't deserve to be my dad"

"Let it all out darling" Aria encouraged.

After calming down, beckoned for sophia to come over and sit beside her. Sophia came over and leaned her head on Aria's shoulder.

"I came over as soon as I heard about the decree. I'm sorry it had to be like that. He should have chosen me instead.

"No!" Sophie cut her off .... Before continuing "I can't bear it if he sent you over there. It is better I'm the one".

"No soph. I failed as a sister. I should be the one to protect you as your elder sister... Aria continued... You're barely twenty, but he can't wait to send you off . Who knows what he'll do to me after we're both separated", Aria said with emotions welled up in her eyes.
