Chapter 123 - Chapter 123: That orphan

Milford, Jayvaughn's father, finally broke the silence, He then looked at Axel with a flat, dismissive stare before muttering, "Fine. Stay here if you want to stay that much."

But the reprieve was short-lived. His attention shifted to his son, and his tone hardened. "Jayvaughn, I need you to break up with this boy."

The words struck like a hammer in the middle of the room. Axel blinked once but remained still. He knew Milford's voice was aimed at Jayvaughn, and he also knew Jayvaughn would never simply accept such a command. True to form, Jayvaughn's lips twitched into a mocking smirk before he responded.

"First of all, his name is not 'this boy,'" Jayvaughn replied with a deliberate calm that only sharpened the insult. "His name is Axel. He introduced himself to you earlier, but clearly you weren't listening. And second, I'm not breaking up with him. Not today, not ever. Our plan is to be together forever."
