Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Special Jōnin (Part 1)

Time passed quietly once again. While eating, Killer Bee suddenly recalled the strange scene he had witnessed upon returning to the village at noon. He looked at his older brother A with a hesitant expression.

"Big Brother," Bee said, as if he'd made up his mind, "do you remember that strange moment we saw on the street when we returned to the village today?"

"Hmm," A looked up. "So you noticed too? Well, I'm not surprised—it would've been strange if you hadn't noticed."

"Do you know about Tailed Beasts?" A asked.

Tailed Beasts? Killer Bee was startled. "Could it be that Sensei is a Jinchūriki? Right! That must be it!" As an anime fan, he certainly knew the tragic fate of Jinchūriki in the Naruto world.

"So, you know about the Tailed Beasts," A said, his expression confirming Bee's guess. "That's right. Your teacher is the current Jinchūriki of the Eight-Tails."

Just as I thought. In the original story, Bee himself becomes the Eight-Tails Jinchūriki. Doesn't this mean that Sensei might sacrifice himself for some reason? Thinking of this, Bee clenched his fists. Though he was an anime fan, he wasn't the type who knew everything about every side character. His teacher wasn't an important figure in the original, so he had no idea how his teacher would die.

"I won't let you die, Sensei." Bee silently vowed in his heart. Even if he came to this world just to complete his mission and earn enough reward points to return to the real world, he would still protect the people he cared about. Whether it was A, his teacher, or his childhood friend Motoi—these three were his family in this world. Even if it was an anime world, weren't they living, breathing people in front of him? As for his side missions... it didn't matter if he didn't complete them, right?

Bee… Bee…

"Big Brother," Bee apologized after being shaken awake. "Sorry, I was spacing out."

"It's fine." A suddenly looked at Bee seriously and said, "Bee, although your teacher is the Eight-Tails' Jinchūriki… you also—"

"I know, Big Brother," Bee interrupted. "In my eyes, Jinchūriki are heroes of the village."

"Hm." Hearing Bee's words, A nodded with satisfaction. "As long as you think that way."

"Oh right, Big Brother!" Bee suddenly raised his head. "I want to learn medical ninjutsu. Do you have any books on it?"

"Medical ninjutsu?" A asked in surprise. "I do, but why are you suddenly interested in learning that?"

"No reason. Just thought I'd learn it in my spare time. Besides, it might come in handy once I become a Chūnin."

"Alright," A replied. "I'll bring you all the books I have on medical ninjutsu later."

Bee was overjoyed. In truth, he had another idea in mind. He wondered if he could still extract chakra after returning to Earth. If he could, medical ninjutsu would be a god-tier skill in the real world. He believed that he could even use it to cure so-called incurable diseases. And even if he couldn't extract chakra, the medical knowledge he learned could still be useful on Earth. After all, human bodies were the same, right?

Time passed quickly. After dinner, Bee happily read one of the medical books that A had given him.

He didn't know whether it was because the explanations in the book were thorough, or because of his natural talent, but he was able to understand the content clearly and in depth.

Night passes…

In the morning, Bee was woken up by A. He quickly put on the custom-made ninja outfit he'd ordered yesterday, scarfed down his breakfast, and followed A to Training Ground 3, which was built on high ground.

The sun had just risen—it was only around 7 a.m. Apart from the two brothers, the training ground was completely empty. One had to admit, the Cloud Village's ninja uniforms were quite breathable. Bee wore only a white tank top, which had a single strap crossing from his left back shoulder to the front chest, leaving his right shoulder and chest fully exposed. His black battle outfit and white scarf hadn't been completed yet, so he could only wear this simple ninja outfit for now.

Bee's tanned skin showed a few visible scars. Though he looked small and slender, he was also well-built. The sword at his waist indicated that he specialized in taijutsu, and also practiced kenjutsu (swordsmanship).

"Alright Bee, since we're early, I'll help you warm up first. Let's treat it like morning training," A said, looking around the empty training ground.

Bee made a hand gesture. "OK, Big Bro!"

"Then… let's begin—!"

BOOM!

"Big Bro, you're sneak attacking again! Take this—Lightning Hot Blade!" Bee shouted excitedly, lightning crackling around him as he turned into a blue blur and dashed toward A.

"Bring it on!" A shouted in return. "Lightning Hot Blade!"

Bang! Bang!

Training Ground 3 erupted in sound early that morning.

Thud! Bang! Crash! Smash!

Inside the training ground, the two figures jumped, sprinted, chased, and dodged, their bodies turning into streaks of afterimages.

"Hah! YAH!"

Boom!

"Damn it! Again!"

A muffled boom echoed, and the clash between the two sent ripples through the air. The resulting shockwaves were so strong, they even sliced through the air with sharp "shh! shh!" sounds.

Time flew as the two continued to spar. Minutes passed… ten… twenty… maybe even longer.

By then, a dozen figures had gathered around the training ground—among them was the Third Raikage himself. When they saw the two brothers sparring, they were visibly shocked. Their speed and power were already at the level of a low-tier Jōnin! As they felt the pressure from the shockwaves caused by their strikes, the crowd finally understood:

"No wonder they dare to take on the Chūnin test."

Just yesterday, the Cloud Village's ninja circles were buzzing with an unbelievable rumor:

"There's a kid named Killer Bee. He's only five years old, but he's already doing missions with Lord A, his sworn brother! And Bee hasn't even graduated from the Ninja Academy! He actually dares go on missions? Lord A too—isn't he afraid of losing the only person who can partner with him? Those are missions meant for actual ninjas!"

What shocked everyone even more was that during his first mission, Killer Bee showed terrifying talent. He killed both a Chūnin and a Jōnin—and in one-on-one combat! A Jōnin! Not some random grunt!

One random side character scoffed. "That's impossible. Those reports must be fake."

"Yeah, I think it's a scam too," said another.

The rumors were so exaggerated, how could anyone believe them? So when they heard Bee would take on the Chūnin Exam today, everyone showed up for the show.

On the field, the two brothers continued their intense battle. What began as a warm-up had escalated into a real fight—lightning sparking around them as they clashed like mortal enemies.

Lord A, are you sure this is just a warm-up?Don't lie to me—I didn't read enough books to fall for that!
