Shurry and Legi had finished their preparations and decided to leave immediately. It took all of half an hour to realize that walking was slow… Like really slow. And Legi was not nearly fast enough to keep up with Shurry. That would be difficult for another werewolf, let alone someone who isn't one.
"Let's stop for a moment." Shurry said, and took the small backpack off. And then he transformed. "Get the bag, and hop on."
Lego, grew a slight blush. "Huh? You want me to ride you?"
"Hmm? Why not? It'll be faster this way." Shurry said, eagerly doing the dog dance, lifting his paws up and down.
Legi was now caught in a mental struggle for her own sanity. The concept of riding on the school mascot was not something she thought would even cross her mind. Yet, just because she had been there, at that moment, she was roped into a mission. "Huh? What? I'm on you?" She exclaimed, not having realized that while she was thinking about it, she had just got onto his furry, and supper soft fluffy back.
"Yep!" Shurry said, making sure all the stuff was there, and wagging his tail. "Let's go!"
"AHHH!!!! So fast!"
"Wee! Hehehe! Yay!" To Shurry this was the best, it had been so long since he could really get his legs to stretch, not the type in training, but to really get the legs moving…
He was bouncing around the landscape, enjoying his run, and sniffing all the new scents around him. He looked like a really happy puppy. And then it happened, a large gap in the earth below, a crevasse appeared.
"Oh no! Shurry watch out!" Legi was panicking a little bit. Just as anyone would before a plummet to their death. And just as they were about to fall in, Shurry ran, like he had stepped off the very air itself. "Huh? You can do that?"
"Yep! It's cool isn't it!" Luna said, appearing, laid back and relaxed in Shurry's fur. Going so far as to mentally tie some of the strands together for modesty's sake. "I love my friend. And the cool ways he uses the moon."
Legi had hit her limit. A nude spirit was just above the limit. And so she passed out, holding the bags.
"Huh?" Shurry came to a complete stop. And let Legi off so she could rest. Meanwhile, he tore through some of the nearby monsters, with Luna directly confiscating the monster's magic stones for herself.
"Yummy, that's tasty." Luna said with a big smile as she licked her lips. "That Magic skill of Spirit Evolve, I think we can use it with monster's magic stones as a fuel source instead."
"Hmm? Really!? Then! I have to get to the dungeon!" Shurry cheerfully howled. "They respawn endlessly there right? That means endless mana!"
"Oh? Really! That sounds like fun!!!!" Luna cheered, and danced in the air. Then she remembered something. "Wait, I think I remember someone mentioning that magic stones have some kind of value."
"Then we just have to ration them properly right? I heard there were really huge monsters, ones with a really large magic crystal. We could use those ones to give you a good boost!" Shurry suggested.
"Yeah!"
Legi, on the other hand, was just now waking up and saw an overly cheerful Shurry, and that same spirit, this time wearing a little bit more than well, nothing.
"Ugh, next time warn me before you do something crazy, like show me a naked spirit."
"Huh? Oh, sorry about that, I just felt like being comfortable. After all, Shurry, and momma don't have a problem with it." Luna said, tilting her head with her tiny finger, she was one of those smart types of airheads.
"Fine, let's just get to the village. I'd like to sleep in a bed tonight. And with how fast you are, we're more than halfway there."
"Oh? Then what are we waiting for? Hop on, and let's go!" Shurry smiled, and then transformed again.
"Seriously, it's like you're trying to be stupid." Legi sighed, unable to deny the cute factor she was seeing.
…
It was another solid hour later when the pair arrived at the village. Legi's legs were shaking with the memory of how fast they were bounding up the mountain side. Yet she did her best to stand on her own in the village chief's home.
"Ah, wonderful, they're all here. Thank you, both of you. Seriously, accidents tend to happen around these parts. And once it's harvest time, stamina potions come in real handy. For us without a falna to bless us, we only need a sip or two to recover back to working condition…" He continued on a rather detailed explanation, Shurry hung on each of the chief's words, while Legi was just really anxious to finally take a seat. "Oh, sorry about that. Please have a seat, this is the money we owe you, along with the promised fresh vegetables. I can't offer any meat to bring with you sadly…" Shurry's ears sank, and a pout came on. "Sorry there little one. But, there's a group of goblins that managed to set up camp not too far from here. We can handle their scouts, but charging in is reckless at best."
Shurry only cared about one thing. "They hunt and steal your meat?" Shurry asked, with a pout.
"Yes, I've had to put a limit on meat consumption. A single cube of cut meat at dinner. And we're still running low. I was going to post another request… But money has also been quite tight." I feel bad, but if these two can handle taking the nest of goblins out, then everything could be resolved after the fact. Wish we had a resident god here…
"Tell me where they are! I'll kill them all!" Shurry demanded, declaring his intention. "I WILL HAVE MEAT!" His tail beat with ferocity.
"Ugh! Fine, now I know why Lord Baldr wanted me to come along." Legi muttered. "Chief sir, we may not look like much, but Shurry here is a level 2. And I'm not exactly the run of the mill level 1 either. Tell us where the camp is so we can stop him from salivating so hard." She continued. "We can discuss payment after. Though, since it is a request directly to us, it'll be a lot cheaper."
The chief quickly had someone explain…
