The birthday party also doubled as a going away party for Shurry. And everyone knew that, so it was quite hectic for a while, however, there was one girl stuck just staring at the plate in front of her, it was like it hadn't even been touched, it was Legi, and she was pouting, barely holding back tears.
Shurry noticed, walked over and smiled. "What's wrong, Legi? Are you sad that we'll be leaving mommy, and daddy?" He asked, with worry in his eyes.
Legi panicked for a moment, and then turned to look at Shurry, she looked confused. "We?" She tilted her head in a similar way to how Shurry usually does, when things just don't make sense.
"Yep! You're coming with me, right?"
All eyes washed over to the scene, watching with great interest in what will happen next.
"I thought, you were replacing me-"
"Huh? Why's that? No one can replace anyone, everyone is unique! And you're my friend."
Hathor smiled. "He's really such a good boy. I wonder what we'll call him in future?" She giggled, stepping forward and rubbing both Shurry and Legi's heads. "I would never willingly split you up. So come join my familia, alongside him. Won't you?" She smiled. "You'll have a big sister in Nernatti, she can teach all of those things you might want to know about, for the future."
Legi was paralyzed for a moment, the sensation she felt from Hathor was similar to the one Idunn gave off. "Nernatti isn't replacing me? And I can stay with my best friend?"
"Yep, so, will you come join me as well?"
Legi began to cry, letting everything out… Not holding back even an ounce of her tears. "Yes, I'll convert to your familia, Lady Hathor. I want to stay with Shurry."
"Hmm? Then, you know what this means?" A pause. "It's time to dig in and eat!" Shurry smiled, putting a fork full of food in Legi's mouth. "Can't have fun on an empty stomach!" He giggled.
And with that the rest of the party went off without a hitch. Once the food was finished, mostly finished by a small handful of people… The meat vanished like it was never there to begin with… Baldr, and Hathor took Legi into a side room, and began the conversion process. Soon after, it was Shurry's turn…
"Hathor, before I finish this process, I must warn you ahead of time. He's a bit on the interesting side. His stats are wild, and so too is his magic. Hera familia will definitely call upon you multiple times in the future, strictly to borrow him and his abilities." Baldr explained holding back the drop of his ichor.
"I understand-"
"No, you don't, not yet at least." Baldr shook his head. "His ability was strong enough to completely turn the tides of our encounter with the Leviathan. It can even be said that it is because of him that we managed to escape with minimal damage."
"I see, that's quite the power for a kid to wield. I'm sure he'll be mature about it."
"When Zeus, and Hera decide to go after the great quests, I want you to refuse to help them. Shurry is but a child of a different generation. Should those two fail in their quest, then it will be left to him to carry the weight of the times. We can not be left without a powerful stabilizing force. You understand, don't you?"
"I get it. I'll do everything to help nurture my new son, so he grows into a powerful hero. I also hope to help him recover from his trauma. Even if only a little."
"Good, then, Hathor, I will entrust my son to your care." Baldr's blood Ichor fell, shining on Shurry's back.
Hathor repeated the process and changed the markings on Shurry's back to that of her own. In the process she read the history of this new child she acquired. "My child, Shurry, welcome to my familia. I won't ask you to call me mommy right away, but I hope you can grow to see me in that light."
"Huh? That won't take long. First it was mommy who lied to me, then it was mommy Idunn, and now it'll be you." He smiled, wagging his tail.
"Pfft, you're so cute, come here." Hathor said, picking Shurry up and hugging him close. "I could get used to this." She giggled, and then went back to being serious, refusing to let Shurry go now. "Now then, that Outer Moon Skill you have, it's really good. I can tell just from its description that it's the reason the Leviathan was forced to flee. You're just full of surprises."
"Well, without Uncle Leon to do the big damage, it wouldn't have been possible to win." Shurry pouted a little. "But I'm going to get strong enough so it won't matter anymore!" He cheered with a confident expression. "I have to, cause there's worse things out there… Amazonesses, truly terrifying people." He shivered.
"Well, don't you worry, I'll make sure you aren't accosted by them. There's one in my familia, but she's a well behaved woman, in all honesty, it's a shame she was born one of them, her soul matches more in line with Elves."
"If she's a good person, I can handle her. I just need to register her scent with my nose and everything will be okay."
"I had a feeling that was the case. And now, let's go home, to your new home." Hathor said, putting Shurry down to walk on his own. "I'll hold your hand as we walk home."
"Uhm first…" Shurry turned to Baldr, and Idunn who had slipped in for Shurry's conversion. He began to cry, the thought of leaving them was hard, but it was necessary now. "Mommy, daddy, thank you for everything you've done for me. Thank you for saving my life after that time. I'll always love you!" He added a smile to his teary face. The complex emotions each vying for dominance to be seen in his expression.
"Oh son, my darling son!" Idunn crying, hugging him close to herself. "I love you, I'll always love you. Thank you for being my little boy."
Baldr joined in the hug, and smiled. "I believe in your potential. So, son, grow strong. Stronger than the rest, and see your ideals made real. We'll be here in the city for a couple more months, so come by whenever you want." He said, keeping the door open. "Remember, you'll always be my son, my little boy, and I'll keep you in my heart forever."
With that there were a few more moments of the family hug, and then Hathor, Nernatti, Shurry, and Legi, all left the School District's residence.
