Two powers clashed, a darkness to blot out the sun, and a moon to light the darkness. One, a god suppressed by the limits of Gekai. The other a mortal, rising through the levels having acquired power through grueling challenges deep within the dungeon, the bowels of Hell.
What the hell is this?! I know my strength is far beyond what a level 15 mortal could ever have! So what the hell is this?! How many skills does he have? What are his Development abilities? How high are his basic abilities!?
The fight was nearly even… Each side gave way to the other on occasion. However, the skill in direct combat, despite the effectively infinite age gap, went to Shurry, the Origin Wolf.
"Hathor, he's fighting evenly with Erebus… How? Just what the hell is he?"
"He's my son. That's what."
"Don't give me that shit, you know good damn well what I meant. That guy has 10 skills, and one of them is just blank!"
"Pfft, you're so surprised. Wouldn't it be normal for someone to have so many skills if they're so strong?"
"You're missing the point damn it!"
"He's not even using the benefits of the new equipment he's got now!"
"Pfft, of course not, he needs to get used to his new power first, remember he just leveled up."
The fight kept going, Erebus had been delivered so many death blows already, only some gods and hyper focused people kept count.
"He's killed the Demon God Erebus 108 times now!"
"Hey, how's he flying through the air like that? It's strange…"
Hermes smirked at the comment.
"Ouranos, permission to use our powers?"
The sound of silence… Or it would have been had it not been for the explosive reactions of energy currently in the sky.
"Oh come on Ouranos, I just want to show everyone here the fight. The people should be able to watch the whole thing."
Hathor giggled.
"Hermes, lots of us are already using mirrors. How do you think so many of them are still here, despite Erebus focusing everything he's got on my precious son?"
"Oh? I just thought he was being stupid as always. He went way too far this time, that's for sure."
"And my son has made him pay the price for 197 of those souls so far."
The other god from before, fumed after being ignored.
"Hey, answer me! How is he so strong! That is not how strong even a level 9 could ever get!"
"He's really pressing hard against him isn't he? I'm sure if you bothered to pay attention, you could figure it out."
Magical beams of light, deep darkness, and silver light clashed and canceled each other out.
Erebus, with an infinite pool of power to pull from, benefited greatly from these exchanges, it bought him some time to think in between deaths.
This damn wolf! He's way too strong. I made sure to calculate my strength. I'm about the power of a level 18… How is he doing this? I'm being utterly dominated.
Shurry came in for the kill, ripping Erebus in half… This, understandably interrupted his thought process as every nerve in his body fired off with the burning agony one would feel from being torn in half.
"Damn you! That one really fucking hurt!"
"I told you, I'd make sure you felt the pain of every death you are responsible for. Prepare yourself, for the ones you've done to women… I'm saving those for last…"
Before Erebus could speak again, he was torn to shreds, and reformed from the darkness once more.
"How are you doing this!? I calculated this perfectly! I perfected the use of power up to the equivalent of level 18!"
"Average or peak?"
"Average-"
"Well there's your problem then. You're really only about level 16 at best."
Shurry ripped out Erebus' spine in brutal fashion. Then allowed Erebus to recover.
"That still makes no sense, there's at least 7 levels left to account for!"
Shurry laughed, and paused for a moment, his right knee raised, to meet his elbow, to support his arm resting his cheek upon his fist.
"I guess you're in a bit of a conundrum then?"
"7 levels should be impossible!"
"Really now? And yet, I'm dominating in this fight, so much so that I'm at least 2 levels above you."
"That shouldn't be possible! How are you so strong?"
"Oh, a little bit of this, and a little bit of that." Shurry chuckled, and stretched. "There, now that the warm up is done, let's pick up the pace. You've got a lot of dying to do."
The one sided battle picked up once more, as Shurry charged in kicking Erebus in the balls so hard it sent his body up at different speeds, crushing him to half his usual height.
That was one attack where most men turned away and held themselves as if the phantom pain hit them too… It was just their imagination.
"Alright, Hathor, tell us, what are his basic abilities truly at?"
"Hmm, should I tell you, or not? That's a really tough choice. Not really, I don't think I'll answer. It's not like you'll be able to do anything about it anyway."
"Are all of your children capable of this?"
"Oh me, no. He's just… Well, I love him so much I hope he'll be my son forever."
"Y- you mean."
"Yeah, that's right."
"Interesting. He really does have potential then."
"Hathor dear, would you let me have him? His soul is so wild, I wonder how he is in-"
"No! You can't have him!"
Ardee's adamant refusal, interrupting the goddess Freya was a shock to no one.
"He's my man! You can't have him!"
"Really? After he's done dealing with this whole situation, there's going to be tons of women flocking to him in spades. He's a powerful man, why wouldn't he have multiple ladies?"
"No! No! No! I said NO! I won't let anyone else get that close!"
"Oh my, even though your friend over there started getting excited like she was in heat?"
Freya pointed over to Neze. Ardee looked at Neze for a moment, and wanted to respond…
I can't lie, but I also don't want to give Neze any hope. I want him to myself. But if it's Neze… Or maybe anyone from the Astraea familia… No, I don't want that. I want him to myself!
"Pfft, looks like you can't answer, seems like there is hope for a harem then after all."
It was right then a brief moment when Shurry appeared in the room, gave a death glare to Freya, and a kiss to Ardee before going back to the fight at hand. Ardee proudly smiled, as she felt validated in her feelings, as if he was leaving it up to her entirely.
Neze noticed the change, and decided she wasn't ready to give up yet, at least not completely.
Number of times Shurry has killed Erebus: 7693… 7694… 7695…
