Chapter 1 - Prologue

Tonight's walk was strange, yet calming.

The chilly air blew against my body, sending shivers down my spine.

The moon shone brightly over the black road—it was the only light guiding me through the darkness.

I didn't expect to see my mother so soon.

After all, I buried her with my own two hands just last month.

This wasn't a nightmare.

It felt more like a dream—one I never wanted to end.

She stood ahead, arms open, beckoning me to join her.

I walked into her arms.

Into her embrace.

Into her warmth.

Into her hands.

But suddenly—

I couldn't breathe.

I gasped for air.

I was being choked.

I couldn't see.

I couldn't scream.

I was being pulled into my own death.

Death...

I saw it approaching from far away.

It was close, yet distant—

shrouded in fog,

lurking in the heart of the forest.

I opened my eyes, gasping for breath.

My lungs were aching.

My clothes were drenched.

Sweat dripped down my skin.

But what hurt most... was that she was gone.

My mom...

She was gone.

Forever?

No.

This can't be.

I won't let her leave me again.

I won't...

I could still feel her warmth—

the warmth of her cold hands.

Her gaze...

Did she really look at me?

No. Her eyes weren't there.

They were bloodshot—

blood streaming from them, tracing her cheeks.

Her eyes weren't there...

Because I had packed them carefully

and buried them far from her body.

I made sure she couldn't reach them.

I made sure...

Believe me
