Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: “Desert Tea and Royal Complaints”

📜 Previously on Reincarnated Prince of Kaligarh

Aryan appointed new governors and designed a development plan for Sumatra, balancing logic and charm. Peace seems to finally bloom—but nothing stays calm for long in a kingdom filled with clever women, playful ministers, and overly dramatic tiger cubs.

SCENE 1 – ROYAL GARDEN PAVILION, MIDDAY

The sky was bright, the wind was lazy, and the palace garden was unusually quiet—until it wasn't.

MEENA (stretching on a shaded bench)

I still don't understand why you won't just pick one of us and make things easier for yourself.

ARYAN (holding a book, startled)

Because peace is already hard to maintain without adding three heartbroken girls to the list of disasters.

KAAMAYA (sipping fruit wine)

You mean three "very clever and stunning" girls.

REVA (cutting fruit with a dagger)

Stunning, clever… and extremely armed.

Aryan coughed.

ARYAN (mumbling)

Why is this garden more dangerous than the battlefield?

Sena, the tiger cub, growled sleepily. Veer rolled over and snorted, unimpressed.

SCENE 2 – ROYAL KITCHEN HALLWAY

RANVI (holding a teapot too big for him)

Permission to serve the King himself!

GUARD (deadpan)

Denied. Last time you dropped a pie on Lady Reva's dress.

RANVI

That was tactical dessert distribution.

Suddenly, he tripped again, the teapot flew up—Aryan caught it without looking.

ARYAN (calmly)

Tea. Still hot. Gravity: still your enemy.

RANVI

I try my best, Your Majesty.

SCENE 3 – COURTYARD OF CURIOSITY

A caravan had arrived. Traders from the western deserts were unloading goods: silk, dried dates, and shiny trinkets. Aryan, dressed in casual robes, strolled among them.

TRADER (bowing)

For you, my King, a sword of wind-tempered steel and a box of laughing spice!

ARYAN

What does laughing spice do?

TRADER

Makes your enemies sneeze during battle.

ARYAN (grinning)

Or your generals during meetings.

GENERAL RUDRA (from behind)

I heard that.

Kaamaya came up behind Aryan holding a necklace.

KAAMAYA

This has rubies from across the seas. Reva says it makes me look more 'queenly.'

REVA (off-screen)

I meant it makes her look queenly. She still has to earn the title.

Aryan turned slowly.

ARYAN

I regret this shopping trip.

SCENE 4 – EVENING IN THE ROYAL BATHS

The marble baths were steamy and serene. Aryan finally had some alone time.

ARYAN (muttering to himself)

Silence. No debates. No paperwork. No flirting…

A splash behind him.

MEENA

You left the garden too early.

KAAMAYA

We weren't finished teasing you.

REVA (popping up from the steam)

And you look too relaxed. Suspicious.

Aryan nearly slipped.

ARYAN (red-faced)

I'm going to exile myself to the mountains.

DEVIKA (from behind the screen)

You'll still find them there too, dear.

Aryan covered his face with a towel.

SCENE 5 – ROOFTOP GAZE, LATE NIGHT

Later, Aryan sat on the rooftop, sipping a cup of cold milk with his mother. The stars above blinked softly.

DEVIKA

You've built roads, ships, cities… But you still can't outsmart three determined women?

ARYAN

Conquering territory is easy. Defending my heart… impossible.

DEVIKA

So choose one.

ARYAN

How about I choose peace?

DEVIKA (grinning)

There's no such thing. Not in Kaligarh.
