Chapter 41: A Trip to the Library

The next day, Kieu Ly went to the library to study for finals with Thuy Duong.

Sometimes she reviewed at home, and other times she'd go to the library with Thuy Duong.

Kieu Ly had excellent concentration, so it didn't matter where she studied—she always did well.

But today, she mainly came to help tutor Thuy Duong, who often turned to her for help with difficult subjects, as Kieu Ly had a knack for explaining things clearly and simply.

Since Thuy Duong lived in the dorms, she went to the library early to save them both a spot.

She placed her bright pink backpack on the adjacent chair to reserve it, then pulled out her books and began studying.

When Kieu Ly arrived, she didn't even have to look long—she spotted Thuy Duong right away.

After all, Thuy Duong always wore bright red or pink clothes, impossible to miss. Even her backpack was pink, covered in Hello Kitty patterns.

Kieu Ly put her sky-blue bag on the table and took a seat, greeting her friend with a smile:

"Did the goat have to wait long?"

(*Note: "Dê" is a nickname for Thuy Duong that also means "goat" in Vietnamese.)

Thuy Duong reached for her backpack and moved it to the empty seat beside her, replying:

"Not too long. But studying without snacks is kinda boring, don't you think?"

As she spoke, she whipped out her phone and opened a food delivery app.

In this department, Kieu Ly really admired Thuy Duong—she was a snack queen.

She ate constantly, yet somehow never gained weight. Her face stayed slim, her body stayed petite.

All the nutrients seemed to go straight to her hips.

If one paid attention, they'd notice that Thuy Duong had the most impressive backside in the entire class.

After settling in, Kieu Ly stood back up to go borrow a few textbooks.

While Thuy Duong was still scrolling through her food app, someone suddenly sat down across from her.

Startled, she looked up—and nearly fell out of her chair.

It was the young lecturer who had recently returned from overseas.

She quickly set her phone aside and greeted him politely:

"Hello, sir."

Tran Tuan Anh nodded in return and said calmly,

"You're Thuy Duong, right? Mind if I sit here?"

She was stunned.

How did he know her name?

She was just an ordinary student in a sea of faces.

Yet somehow, an unexpected joy blossomed inside her, a warm glow she didn't quite understand.

She hurriedly shook her head:

"No... not at all."

Kieu Ly soon returned with the books and also froze for a moment upon seeing Tran Tuan Anh sitting there.

This was a public library, anyone could come.

But professors rarely showed up here—let alone sitting directly across from her.

After the initial shock passed, Kieu Ly took her seat and placed her textbooks on the table.

Strangely enough, that entire study session, Thuy Duong completely forgot about ordering snacks.

As for Kieu Ly, once the surprise wore off, she quickly regained focus and continued tutoring her friend like usual.
