Chapter 68: Feeling Sorry for Herself
Standing in front of the pharmacy, Huong Tra hesitated for a moment before asking to buy the pills. The pharmacist, with a face as cold as stone, also advised her:
"Birth control pills aren't good for you. You should tell your boyfriend to use condoms."
Holding the pack of pills in her hand, Huong Tra suddenly felt unbearably sorry for herself. She went to sit by the lake and look at the moon.
Huong Tra liked to joke, liked to flirt playfully. She often flirted with Quang Huy. But she didn't expect that once she truly got involved, the one who would be heartbroken would be her.
"I thought it was just a playful joke.
Who knew the joke would turn into misery."
At that moment, she felt that Quang Huy didn't love her, didn't care about her, didn't pay attention to her feelings — he only came to her as a way to relieve his desires. She texted Kieu Ly:
"I feel like Huy doesn't love me, Ly. I'm so sad."
After sending it, Huong Tra covered her face and cried.
Kieu Ly received the message and replied:
"What silly thoughts are you having?"
"He always makes me take birth control pills, never agrees to use condoms. Today he even made me go buy the pills alone. But Ly, I love him. I've already fallen for him."
After that message, Huong Tra cried even harder.
Suddenly, a passerby stopped and tried to comfort her:
"Hey, whatever you're going through, it'll pass. Any problem can be solved. Don't do anything rash."
Apparently, Huong Tra sitting there crying by the lake had drawn attention. People thought she was so heartbroken she might jump into the lake.
Huong Tra wiped her tears, forced a polite smile:
"I'm fine, thank you."
On the other side, Kieu Ly also sank into thought. Once you fall into the trap of love, no matter how strong you are, you become weak.
"Don't overthink. If you want to continue the relationship, you need to talk honestly with him about your feelings. Don't carry it all alone."
Huong Tra sat quietly by the lake, breathing deeply. Maybe she and Quang Huy really did need to talk seriously.
Just as she was about to get up and head back to the neighborhood, Quang Huy appeared in front of her. Seeing her red eyes and the way her short hair clung to her tear-streaked face, he could guess she had been crying.
Seeing him, Huong Tra asked in surprise:
"Huh? Why are you here?"
"I waited and waited but you didn't come back, so I went to look for you."
He came closer, hugged her, and sat down with her on the bench.
"What's wrong? Are you mad at me?"
Huong Tra didn't answer, but asked him instead:
"Do you love me?"
