I gazed at her with loving eyes from across the classroom, how I loved her...
The noise of the classroom faded into the background as I went into a daze just staring at my beloved, she was my everything up until now...
'Sophia...' I thought, a smile playing on my face
I only snapped out of it when a voice called me
"June! June!" My best friend called
"What do you want, Noah?" I asked with a bit of annoyance creeping into my tone
Noah rolled his eyes and sat down beside me
"Daydreaming about Sophia again?" He asked
I nodded, a smile playing on my face "She is just so dreamy~ who wouldn't?"
"Yeah sure, too bad she likes a boy"
I paused and looked at him, my smile never fading "So what if she likes a boy? I'll win her heart over for sure!" I said
"Good luck with that, she hates your guts! Always being a point closer... You're the top student, after all, she's probably frustrated being always second!" Noah mused with a light chuckle
"Whatever, you gay anyway" I retorted
"What does that even have to do with our talk??? And I'm not gay excuse you!" Noah said in defense
I rolled my eyes and continued staring at Sophia, my love...
'let's see what I know about her... She is a red belt in taekwondo... She is top two... She is very competitive... She is 154 cm... She is 56 kg... What else...' I trailed off, gazing at her with adoring eyes.
On the other hand, Sophia chattered away with her friends while Noah sat beside me, watching downloads on his phone and occasionally showing me memes
"Noah..." I called "Is there any chance she'll fall in love with me?" I asked
Noah shrugged "Probably not," he said
"You are such a killjoy!" I yelled
"What? Do you want me to lie? Nah" Noah shrugged it off once again and went back to playing with his phone
I heard someone yell my and Noah's name from behind, it was Nelson, a classmate of ours and a pain in the ass. My smile faded instantly
"Look! The couple is having their time together! How sweet~" Nelson said
"We aren't a couple! I like girls and he's gay!" I practically yelled
"What??? I'm not gay!" Noah said in defense
"Just roll with it" I whispered
Nelson crossed his arms and rolled his eyes "Lies!" He said
The yelling caught Sophia's attention, as the sergeant at arms she should be maintaining the peace and order in the classroom so naturally, she had to step in
"What is going on here???" She asked, standing up from her seat and walking towards me
My heart raced as I saw my live my life my universe my everything get closer, a smile tugged at my lips as I rested my chin on my palm, my elbow on my desk
"June! What is happening here???" She questioned again
I shrugged and looked at Nelson
"He keeps teasing me and Noah, saying we're a couple" I explained softly
Nelson scoffed "She and Noah are dating! I bet on it!"
My soft smile turned into a scowl, turning back to Noah, my voice raised slightly "I like girls!" I yelled in defense
Sophia blinked in surprise "You and Noah aren't dating?"
I felt like my heart clenched as I looked at her, desperately wanting to say she was the one I love, she was the one I wanted to be with but the words died in my throat
Noah, who was quietly watching, nodded "She's my best friend," he said
Sophia looked at him skeptically and suspiciously "Whatever you say I guess..."
I rolled my eyes and looked at Sophia once more
"Yelling isn't supported in the classroom, no yelling" she ordered sternly
I nodded, playing as the perfect student once more despite the many flaws Sophia had already seen in me
She went back to her seat which was in front of mine, I wanted to reach out and start braiding her hair but I knew Sophia didn't like her hair touched but also allowed one person to touch her hair, her mom. Her mom because she is scared of her mom.
I started to write in my new diary, my writing was messy

My smile faded as the noisy classroom returned to my senses
I've been with everyone in this classroom for 3 years yet I wasn't close to anyone but Noah, it was a bit sad but It worked, I was the person everyone knew but wasn't close to anyone at the same time
I looked at the back of Sophia's head before reaching into my bag and getting a key chain of her favorite character
I smiled and stood up from my seat, walking over to Sophia
"Hi, Sophia! This is for you..." I held out the keychain with hope in my eyes
Sophia looked at it and smiled, taking it and examining it
"This is my favorite character... How did you know?" Sophia asked in awe and slight disbelief
I shrugged "Not even a thank you?" I asked, a smile on my face seeing her reaction 'Adorable...' I thought
"Oh! Yeah! Thank you, June" she said, clipping the key chain on her wallet
The teacher arrived and I went back to my seat but my mind was elsewhere, my heart was racing, I gave something to Sophia... It felt surreal because I barely talked to Sophia...
A grin played on my lips, I was now in a very good mood today.
The teacher started the lecture and I watched Sophia take notes
