Chapter 2 - The Cracked Photo

Jinwoo inserted the USB into his laptop.A single file appeared: video.mp4No context. No timestamp.

He pressed play.

The video showed a school hallway—slightly shaky, like it was recorded with a hidden camera.Jung Dahye appeared in the frame, smiling brightly as she walked.

"Are you coming today?" she said to someone off-camera.

Then, the footage shifted. The camera followed her down a dim staircase and into what looked like an old storage room.

The screen trembled. The sound distorted.

Then—darkness.

The final frame of the video lingered before cutting to black.A single line of white text appeared:

"Remember what you saw."

Suddenly, the doorbell rang.

Jinwoo jumped.

Opening the door, he found a woman standing outside.Short haircut. Black slacks. Sharp eyes.

"Detective Han Yuri," she said, flashing her badge.

"We'd like to ask you some questions about a university student—Park Seohee. She recently went missing."

Jinwoo blinked. He didn't know that name.Or so he thought.

Then she showed him a picture.

A young woman in casual clothes. The same gentle smile.

"She made her last call to your number," Yuri said."You were also involved in another case ten years ago—Jung Dahye. Do you remember her?"

Jinwoo's throat tightened.

And for the first time in a decade—he did.
