Chapter 11 - A girls confession

(POV: Charlie)

It has been 15 years since I first met Stygian back at his father's palace, and things have been going well for me.

First off, my father approved of me wanting a relationship with Stygian, and if he does court me, we would have his blessing.

The second was my purchase of a hotel to rehabilitate sinners and give them a chance at redemption. Though Dad wasn't so happy or excited about this project, he didn't object— but all funding would have to come from me.

Luckily, Stygian found out about this and lent me some money to spend on the hotel. I obviously tried to decline, but he insisted that I take the money so I could achieve my dream.

And finally, both Stygian and I are now 20 years old. I'm still currently waiting for him to court me so that we can officially be a couple, but every time I try to drop a hint that I want to be with him, it seems as though it just flies over his head.

I swear, that man is more dense than a black hole, and if this keeps going on, I may have to confess to him myself.

Which wasn't ideal, since in the mangas I read, the guy has to be the one to confess to the girl in order to be more romantic.

Ahh, I can already imagine it—Stygian and I would be working to redesign the hotel, and suddenly I would slip and fall off a ledge. But out of nowhere, Stygian would catch me and carry me like a princess. We would lock eyes with each other and be entranced by each other's beauty, and at that moment, Stygian would kiss me on the lips and say:

> "Charlie, I love you. Please be mine for eternity."

I would turn back and look away slightly.

> "But Stygian, what would Father think?"

> "I don't care what Lucifer thinks of us. I love you, Charlie."

He would then kiss me again to prove himself, and I would resist a little until seconds passed—and I would kiss him back.

Ahhh!! It's going to be perfect.

...

But... if that doesn't work, I'll just confess to him myself. Or maybe break his legs and lock him in my room so he stays with me forever.

Hehe... Forever.

(POV: Stygian)

I had just finished my duties and was headed towards Stolas's home to give my niece, Octavia, a gift I had made myself.

It was inside a pink box with a red ribbon. Inside was a type of clothing that could change its shape and size into the desired form of the user. But while Octavia couldn't form complex thoughts, I added a small feature where, if the user is below the age of six, it would automatically change to suit the user's needs and ensure their comfort.

This was the perfect present for my baby niece. I hope she'll like it.

As I approached the home of my brother, I nearly forgot to wear a proper tux, so I used my power to manipulate the souls I'd consumed to form a new suit.

This suit appeared to be like any other suit you would find in a fancy clothing store, but what made it special were its unique properties:

1. It had the power to passively collect any lingering soul that came near me for absorption.

2. It had the ability to use those souls to form a shield to protect me from sudden attacks.

3. It allowed me to levitate without needing my wings or magic.

Yeah, this suit was quite amazing. And the best part? It also had a built-in cape that looked like black flames and a neat function to become a small ring on my finger when I wasn't using it.

Now that I was fully prepared for my niece's birthday, I walked toward the door and knocked, awaiting my brother to open it.

The door opened, and it wasn't my brother who answered—but Sebastian, my old butler from when I was young.

Guess Father's here, huh.

"Good evening, Master Stygian. Please come inside."

"Good evening to you too, Sebastian, and thank you."

He nodded, and I entered the home of my brother. What I saw was quite amusing. First off, Stolas was playing with his daughter, who was now two years old and could almost walk already. Second, Stella—an ice bitch—was drunk from all the wine they had drunk. And Father was just watching his granddaughter play with my brother.

To say things were chaotic was an understatement.

I made my presence known to the room, and Stolas quickly greeted me with a wide smile.

"Dear brother! It is good to see you!"

"You too, Stolas."

"Father."

"Greetings, my son. It seems you're still without a partner. If you would allow me, I could set you up with someone of your taste and caliber."

"For the last time, Father, I will not take someone I don't love."

"Oh, please, son. You don't need to love them. All you need to do is produce an heir. Your genes are being wasted."

"You know what, Dad? I was having a good time until you decided to bring this up again, and frankly, I'm done."

I placed my present for Octavia on a table and left the room with a teleportation spell.

"Oh, what a drama queen. When I was his age, I already had ten wives."

"I don't think he wants that, Father."

"Oh, come now, Stolas. Look at him—what kind of woman wouldn't want your brother?"

---

I teleported back inside my home and landed in my room.

It was pitch black, which was weird since I usually keep it slightly bright for my convenience.

I opened my window blinds slightly, allowing the soft moonlight to enter my room. I then began removing my clothes and entered my bed to rest.

But as I lay there, I felt someone's breath behind me, and I instantly jumped up to escape the assailant.

But when I looked back, I saw that it was none other than my best friend—Charlie.

"Hey, Stygy~" she said in a sultry voice.

"Um, hello Charlie. It's good to see you, but… what are you doing in my bed?"

"Oh, nothing. Just waiting for you to arrive," Charlie responded.

But what caught me off guard was her wearing an evening gown.

I looked away, not wanting to offend her.

"Oh, sorry for being late then. If you're tired from all the waiting, I can give you my bed and I'll take my couch. Let's talk about what you had in mind tomorrow," I said, still looking away.

But before I could leave, she hugged me from behind.

"No! Don't go!"

"Charlie! What's wrong?!"

"Am I not beautiful? Am I just ugly to you?"

"What? No, no, no! Why would you ever think that?" I said, now facing her.

"Because every time I would drop a hint that I was interested in you, you would never acknowledge it."

"Oh… I'm really sorry, Charlie. I didn't know."

"That's fine… I'll just get out of your hair."

But before she could leave, I held her arm and hugged her.

"No, Charlie. Please don't leave. I know I'm not the best at picking up on these types of things, but if you would let me…"

I got on one knee.

"Please allow me to court you, and let's try to make this work. I don't want to lose you."

Charlie's eyes lit up, and she tackled me to the floor, kissing me repeatedly on the face.

"Yes, yes, yes, yes! A thousand yes!"

"Okay... okay, let's just get off the ground. It's really cold."

"Oh, sorry."

We both got up, and she then held my hands and kissed me softly on the lips.

"Thank you, Stygy."

"Always."

We both hugged each other in the cover of moonlight, both content in the outcome of the result.

They both slept on Stygian's bed and fell into a deep, quiet slumber.

Both unknown to Stygian—Charlie had prepared an angelic blade that could remove a demon's healing properties in order to remove his limbs should he try to leave her. This way, he could not regenerate completely… and she would have him forever.
