Chapter 64 - Truth seekers

(Plagg POV)

It's been a while since my brother started training with the Sins, and the hotel's been really boring.

All work and no fun.

I was curled up on my bed, half-asleep, when Sasha suddenly slipped through my window and sat beside me.

"You look bored," she said.

"Yeah... Bro's been out a while, so I can't really mess with him."

A mischievous smile spread across her face. "You know, if you can't mess with him personally, why not mess with his work?"

I looked at her… and grinned.

"You're right! Oh thank you, Sasha!" I squealed, hugging her.

With renewed energy, I flew straight to Dad. He was eating lunch in the dining room with my moms.

"Hey Dad, could I visit brother's workplace for the day?"

"Did he allow you to visit while he was gone?"

"…Yeeesss?"

He gave me a skeptical look but opened a portal anyway.

"Be back before dinner," he said.

"Say hi to Luna for me!" Charlie added.

"Don't make a mess," Vaggie muttered between bites.

I zipped through the portal and arrived in an empty office.

Quiet.

Too quiet.

Suddenly, the door burst open. A hellhound carrying a book and backpack marched in, followed by an imp wielding a massive battle axe.

They both froze when they saw me.

"Hey asshole," the hellhound snapped. "Didn't you see the sign? We're closed today—so fuck off."

"Rude."

"Who the hell are you, and what do you want? We're kind of busy here."

"Well, I was just visiting my brother's work and... I'm disappointed."

"Wait—you're Geri's brother?" the imp said, blinking.

"Yup! But what exactly are you busy with?"

"My husband and boss got kidnapped by humans," she said. "And now we gotta rescue them."

"Oh! A rescue mission! Can I join?"

"We're not taking a kid to the human world," the hellhound growled.

"Please? 🥺" I hit them with my ultimate weapon: adorable eyes.

They tried to resist. They really did. But ultimately, they cracked.

I beamed and plopped myself on top of the hellhound's head.

"We never really introduced ourselves," she said with a sigh. "I'm Luna, and this is Millie."

"Oh, so you're Luna! Mom says hi."

She blinked. "Huh. Okay."

With a sigh, she opened a portal to the human world. We stepped through into a massive government-looking building.

"So, who are we saving again?" I asked.

"She just told you," Luna grumbled. "My da—Blitzo—and Moxxie. Some CIA guys kidnapped them. We're here to rescue them."

"Ohhhh, gotcha. So what's the plan?"

"First, we sneak inside and figure out where they're being held."

Then she launched into a long, detailed explanation. I nodded the whole time.

But honestly? I had no clue what she was talking about.

"Booooring."

I floated over to a wall and smirked. "Cataclysm!"

The entire building crumbled into dust.

Most of the humans hit the ground hard—some on their butts, others on their faces. A few unlucky ones... didn't get back up.

As the dust settled, we spotted two familiar imps tied to chairs... singing?

Without missing a beat, Luna swooped in, grabbed them both, and opened a portal.

We all jumped through.

The imps flopped onto the floor face-first. Luna and Millie, of course, landed perfectly.

"What the hell was that?!" Luna snapped, glaring at me.

"What? We saved them, didn't we?"

She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "Yes. But next time? Try following the plan if you want to join us again."

"I will!" (I won't.)

Suddenly, another portal burst open—and Beth flew out.

"아빠가 너 집에 가야 한다고 하셨어. 아빠가 게리 형을 불러서 플래그가 자기 직장 근처에 오지 못하게 하라고 하셨거든."

I blinked at her in confusion.

Before I could ask what she meant, she chomped down on my scruff and carried me off like a disobedient kitten.

The portal closed behind us.

Leaving a very confused hellhound, a slightly traumatized imp, and two drugged-up imps blinking on the floor.
