Hiruko was once a friend of the Legendary Sannin.
His talent was considered top-tier among shinobi, but in the presence of the young Sannin, it was never enough. Watching the gap between himself and them grow wider and wider, he chose to stray down a forbidden path—developing the Chimera Technique.
But during the process of creating the technique, Konoha shinobi began to disappear. Once the Third Hokage uncovered the truth, he sent the Sannin to hunt Hiruko down.
In the end, Hiruko barely escaped their pursuit. Forced into hiding, he lived like a shadow, never daring to show himself, constantly perfecting his Chimera Technique in the hope of gaining unmatched power.
After spending decades on his obsession, he was finally close to fulfilling his ambition. There was no way he would allow anyone to interfere now.
Kiyosuke had no interest in Hiruko's past.
He only wanted to bring his friend back.
But before he could act, Sasuke, already in his Cursed Seal Second Level, made the first move. The Kusanagi Blade slashed wildly, wrapped in crackling lightning chakra.
To be fair, this Swift Release was indeed impressive. If not for Sasuke's Sharingan, which allowed him to perceive Hiruko's attacks, he would have already been defeated. Even with that advantage, the sheer difference in speed left him struggling.
"Rasengan!"
Naruto charged in.
Hiruko let out a cold laugh, raised his hand, and absorbed Naruto's attack. A moment later, a Rasengan appeared in Hiruko's own palm.
"Rasengan!"
For the first time in his life, Naruto was hit directly by the very technique he had practiced for years.
The impact made him understand just how much pain his enemies endured when it landed.
Mouth open, eyes squeezed shut, Naruto was blasted away.
Kiyosuke caught him and said,
"You—why rush in so recklessly? Now look at you, got knocked flat, didn't you?"
"It hurts!"
"Don't talk. I'll heal you right away!"
Sakura hurried over, immediately placing her hands on Naruto and using the Mystical Palm Technique. With the aid of medical ninjutsu and Naruto's own Jinchūriki constitution, his complexion quickly improved.
Boom!
At that moment, Sasuke was also sent flying, knocked out of his Cursed Seal form.
Coughing, he muttered,
"Damn it. This guy's speed is too fast. Even my Sharingan can't follow his movements."
"Leave it to me! You two focus on saving the others."
Kiyosuke smiled.
"Since your speed is so great, why don't I play along with you?"
As he spoke, he removed his flak jacket and unfastened the heavy weights strapped to his body.
He always wore them—not only for training, but also because the weight increased the force of his strikes, making his attacks even more devastating.
Now, to counter Hiruko's Swift Release, he shed his burdens.
"Oh? You actually train with such things? Truly diligent. No wonder you're Orochimaru's student. But what a shame—you killed him!"
Hiruko chuckled darkly. He wasn't concerned about Kiyosuke's speed. Swift Release was unmatched. How could anyone possibly be faster?
Unless it was the Flying Thunder God. But after the Fourth Hokage's death, no one else had ever possessed such speed.
That was why Hiruko believed himself invincible.
Swish!
Kiyosuke vanished. Hiruko flinched, then immediately used Swift Release to chase him.
Sasuke activated his Sharingan, straining to follow. The two figures moved at such impossible speeds that even he could only catch blurred shadows.
Dragging his injured body, Sasuke carried the barely conscious Kakashi into the palace, set him down, and began retreating with him toward the outside. For now, rescuing anyone else was impossible.
Boom!
The two reappeared, fists colliding. Flames erupted from Kiyosuke's punch, exploding outward in a ferocious blaze that swallowed Hiruko whole.
But when the fire cleared, Hiruko's hardened body gleamed like steel—he had survived by using Steel Release.
"What terrifying strength. Orochimaru truly raised a fine disciple. This body of yours—I'll make it mine!"
Hiruko's eyes gleamed with naked hunger, betraying his desire for Kiyosuke's body.
"Disgusting."
Kiyosuke seized Hiruko, hurled him away, then raised his hands. A vortex of fire erupted, swallowing Hiruko completely.
The sky gradually darkened—the solar eclipse was about to begin.
Seeing the appointed time arrive, Hiruko quickly used Dark Release to absorb the flames, then rushed back into the palace.
But once inside, he discovered that Kakashi—the most important target—was gone.
"No—!"
His roar echoed to the heavens.
Above, the sun was being devoured bit by bit, the world sinking into darkness. A figure of flame entered the palace and reshaped into Kiyosuke. He looked at the four Kekkei Genkai shinobi bound to racks, their lives already gone.
He shook his head.
"What a miserable death."
Hiruko spun around, eyes flashing dangerously.
"Even without Kakashi, if I use you instead, it will still work."
What?!
He actually intended to consume me?
"Don't even think about it!"
"You don't have a choice! Chimera!!!!"
Hands flying through seals, Hiruko's feet exuded a strange, sticky liquid that engulfed the four dead Kekkei Genkai shinobi, then surged toward Kiyosuke to swallow him whole.
With the timing, the place, and the eclipse all aligning, Hiruko had no hesitation left. Losing the Sharingan's insight was worth it if he could gain an even stronger body.
But he had underestimated Kiyosuke. There was no way Kiyosuke would simply wait to be devoured.
"Honestly… people like you are always rushing to die. Fine then—I'll oblige you!"
Kiyosuke swept his arm, scattering countless explosive tags into the air.
Seeing them, Hiruko's heart lurched.
Boom!
The first tag detonated, and then dozens more went off in a chain of deafening explosions. The sticky liquid was blown apart in every direction.
Kiyosuke turned and walked away, leaving Hiruko shrieking in agony.
"No! Asakawa Kiyosuke, what have you done? What have you done to me?! My immortal body! My perfect vessel!"
He screamed his fury, but Kiyosuke had already stepped outside the palace.
"This ends your Chimera Technique. Heh… nothing pleases me more than crushing someone's dream."
With a wicked grin, he raised his hand, palm glowing red. Flames burst forth, incinerating the palace and leveling it to the ground.
When the smoke cleared, Hiruko still stood.
But his entire body was wrapped in bandages. Beneath them, half of his face was revealed—twisted with monstrous features, teeth jagged and sparse, like some abomination.
On his chest was a great scar—the only weakness left behind by the Chimera Technique.
