Chapter 7 - Thinking Time

Kairon sat on his chair in the study room. It was a normal apartment sized room which would usually be used as a study room, and it was being used as one. To his left, there was a shelf with tons of books placed in sequences. To his right, there was just a orange wall with vertical red stripes added to make it more lively. On the table, there were multiple books with fancy covers and a potato.

Luckily, Elira had calmed down and was not plotting to kill both Varn and him. So he had all the time to think for himself.

He rested his back on the chair as thoughts spiralled around his head.

'Everything is going perfectly, but... in novels, perfect means trouble'.

He then launched himself forward and stared at the potato on his desk. It was a shiny potato with a slight irregularity in it's shape. It didn't seem harmful, neither it was.

Truth was, after that intense fight and stuff, the vegetables suddenly multiplied. As if they were coded to do so, well they were.

In reality, The novel which he was in was a mess of a Story web

The novel was based on a game that was based on another novel which was based on ANOTHER game which was based on ANOTHER novel.

Sounds stupid, right? It was.

'The demon king of tea time' was based on a game called 'The Hero Prevails' which is based on a novel with a slight difference in naming 'The Hero Returns' after that it changes a little too much.

'The Hero Returns' is based on a romance otome game called 'The Seventh Princess' which is based on the novel 'The Sixth Princess'.

"Ugh!!! It's messing with my head!" Kairon scratched his head with both his hands, as he smashed it on the table in exhaustion.

He then suddenly shot his head up and gained a immediate motivation.

"First, let's check which storyline i am in, and which event is going to occur."

"Varn!" He yelled with the top of his lungs and patiently waited.

After a few seconds, he could hear footsteps of a man running with his full might. Varn swiftly opened the door and entered to see what the call was for.

"Yes, Young master. What do you need?" He said, just before catching his dying lungs.

"What year is it?" Kairon raised his question.

Varn's expression straightened. He stared at Kairon then at the wall behind him.

Kairon, who got curious, turned his head to see a calendar hanging right behind him.

Embarrassingly, he had no clue on how to read a calendar, so he did what most 'Young masters' do.

He turned his head towards Varn and looked him dead in the eyes. "Read it for me".

"No". Varn replied and turned around, reaching out for the door.

"Okay fine. I will give you a two days vacation.".

Varn stopped, thought for a second but slowly went back to his business of opening the door.

"With Elira".

"438th year of Melcria. Today's 23rd day of the Huin month." Varn said, and left the room.

"Tch! Love birds! We will see how far your 'lovey-dovey' takes you to life." He said to himself, for he couldn't say it to someone else. He was single, and jealous. Extremely jealous.

"438th of Melcria.. So i am in the beginning of the novel and since it's the Huin month, Winter's coming." He kept talking to himself, rubbing his chin like a philosopher.

"From what Varn told me, Avelra resides in the Genhu kingdom. The major kingdoms close to it that were mentioned are Venius that is to the north, and Rainsworth to the north-east".

"If it takes up the whole part till the water body, and since it's to the south.....dang it.".

"The Embersea.." He said those words nervously, because it was something to be scared about. In the game "The Seventh Princess'" , ruler of Embersea, who's name he had forgotten was the final boss.

"ugh... This damned powerscaling!" He once again scratched his head. It was a sign of anxiety.

When a human does not have a given answer that matches thier genius, they tend to repeat the same actions over and over.

But Kairon wasn't a genius. He gave up thinking.

"Let's leave that for later. I should think about how to bring population to this viscounty."

He thought for long, but there was no way. The neighbouring viscounties, counties and even the barons had peoples.

"How am I supposed to...." He stopped his words as a thought replaced it, "Huin month". "Winter". "438th of Melcria".

The GGE(Great Goblin Extinction).

"Yes! During the GGE, there was a massive immigration from the east to the Rainsworth Kingdom, but ofcourse they couldn't provide them all."

So, where would they go?

"The kingdom behind it! And i am the closest to Rainsworth!!"

He jumped up from his chair in joy, just thinking about the slav- his people who would contribute to this crumbling Viscounty.

"Varn said 23rd, so there's still 4 days."

He rushed towards the door shouting in happiness.

"VARN!!"
