Chapter 74 - A bitter awakening

Rhys woke up in a foul mood, his head aching, wishing he could stay in bed all day if he could. His plan was thwarted when he heard noises and voices coming from the dining room. He frowned in annoyance, convinced Caelan and Jae had decided to cause a racket far too early.

He turned in bed and noticed something strange: he was alone. Eun-woo wasn't in the room. For a moment, his chest tightened, but he let it go right away, thinking Eun-woo had probably gotten up early to train with Caelan. He sighed, ran a hand over his face, and reluctantly got to his feet.

Once dressed, he left the room. The clamor grew clearer: laughter, spoons striking bowls, the hum of an animated conversation. With a scowl, he made his way to the dining room.

"What's with all the racket?," he growled as he walked in.

Jae and Caelan looked up at him. The first grinned mischievously; the second eyed him up and down, taking in his disheveled appearance, tousled hair, and half-closed eyes.
